I was wondering about editing or replacing the map overlay in atlas. Since the holiday season is here. And there is an overlay or image from paragonwiki For Example. Is there a way to save the old atlas park overlay. and add this one to it?

If you're up to it. TonyV has an ancient walk-through on how to do it. http://paragonforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=335

Good to see you got it working. Did you have to use Tony's walkthrough?

Wow, that's cool that you got it working! I've actually thought about producing a map mod with the present locations on it, and I still might. I'd really kind of want to nail down the exact coordinates, though, which would take me a while (and a lot of poring over demo files). Maybe I'll at least collect the coordinates to have it ready next year.

Didn't we generate those maps using demo file data to begin with?
I guess a few presents might have been moved since then, but I bet the maps are still pretty accurate for the most part.

Probably, but it doesn't have my patented (not really) AccuDot system. That was the thing that I always felt set the Paragon Maps apart from VidiotMaps. Some of the VidiotMaps maps, I would get to the location marker, look around, and still not see the badge/plaque I was looking for. With Paragon Maps, if you're standing on that dot, it's about to reach up and bite you in the ass. Not that the glowing wouldn't give it away, but still...

Those are by GuyPerfect, and knowing him as little as I do... I'm pretty sure on the overall accuracy of his maps.

I'm not saying they're not accurate; I'm sure they are. I'm just saying that the red blob in the middle of the present is difficult to nail down to a specific location. On the Paragon Maps maps, each location is indicated with a single white pixel, surrounded by black pixels (or for plaques, the exact opposite) so that there's no "hmm, I'm here, where's the [whatever]? Maybe I'm not standing right in the middle. Is it over here?..." Keep in mind that on most of these maps, a single pixel is 10.3125 in-game feet. A 3x3 pixel area covers almost 93 square feet, which makes it difficult to tell, for example, whether a present is next to a building or on its roof a hundred feet in the air. That was my main problem with VidiotMaps--not that it wasn't accurate (though some of the markers were a bit off), but that once I got to the marker, I couldn't find what I was looking for because I couldn't really tell very well where the exact center of the marker is. When I get home this afternoon, if I have time, I'll try putting together a map so that you can clearly see exactly what I'm talking about. You'll say, "Wow, that is a lot easier to find!"

GuyPerfect made those presents maps with demo record info, IIRC. So they're as accurate as you're going to get, unless they've added/moved presents since they were made (entirely possible).

Again, I'm not disputing the accuracy of the data on the maps, just the precision.
