Out of Curiosity: where does Sentinel get its data from?

Some of the techniques we use could be used also to try to find client-side exploits.  To be clear: We have not found such exploits, and if we did, we would report them under the theory that there are other less scrupulous people out there doing some of the stuff we do.  However, that's why we're deliberately vague about what is going on in the innards of Sentinel.

I will be up front when it comes to what data is being sent to and from the server; such is a valid privacy concern.  Right now, it's pretty much the stuff you see in CIT--your character name, experience, influence, powersets, slotting configuration, etc.  In the future, we'll actually be sending more data, such as your inventory, costume configurations, and probably some OPT-IN (I cannot stress that emphatically enough) information like zone events, chat logs, etc. if you want some more advanced tracking features.

I can also tell you that we will NEVER read or collect your account password or any financial information like credit card numbers and the like.  If you EVER receive a request for such information, someone is trying to scam you and it's NOT us.  Please report it immediately!  (We do exercise due diligence to try to prevent such things.)

So I wish we could help you more, but that really is about as much as you're going to get out of us.  Not because we don't want to disseminate more information, but because we are dedicated to make sure that none of our activities could compromise the game client or servers.
