NCSoft/Nexon looking to buy Steam?

I did catch something about Gabe Newell recently making a Charlton Heston-esque statement about taking Valve/Steam down before letting it be taken over, but what happens when he's gone?

Steam users soiling themselves at the thought aside, this seems geared again to playing psychological games with NCSoft investors. Showing off that the company remains a financial powerhouse regardless of the losses incurred.
