Anyone still moderating in-game? Pretty sure pulling a stunt like that is some kind of huge ToS violation, and a bannable offense.

Doubt it's a serious ToSsable offense to misrepresent yourself. It's Not Nice, though.

It's not misrepresentation of oneself.

It's fraud.

And impersonating a celebrity, in our current situation, is only slightly less dangerous than impersonating staff. This could've gotten really bad, really fast. This guy could use the account again, and start Phishing for who knows what, claiming to need personal info for a game-saving project.

And since a youtube video was mentioned, everyone be on the lookout in the near future for a video of CoH players being punkd, so we can get it reported and removed ASAP.

Ok... Damn it. We've been had, then.

I was still in AE-AFK-Holdtorch mode in AP 33 though, and still had the convo from the team from earlier.

So I did a globalname search on the hoaxter.

That's the global name of the Fred impersonator.


(The bitter irony is not lost on me, either.)

Edit: Global removed.  It appears this was a misunderstanding and it's being handled by the parties involved.  No need to go on a witch hunt. - eabrace
