With Paragon Chat launching soon (lowercase 's' now!), what can you do to make sure your Titan account is ready to go?
Our resident server guru Sekoia has posted about a new feature that allows you to check and see if your account is linked up with the Paragon Chat XMPP service. It also allows you to change your username if you need to or want to.

Keep in mind that your username on the Paragon Chat XMPP service also doubles as your @global, so make sure it's something that you want to use!

Seriously, I've wanted to change my name on here for years. The fact that the name I had on here had no connection to any of my CoH stuff always felt a bit off to me.

Something is a little goofy about my account. It wouldn't log in with Chrome, so I did the password reset. The reset password didn't work either. Then I tried Firefox, and it apparently had the password autosaved and logged in right away. But that should have failed I would think, since I had a reset password. I reset the password manually in Firefox, then went back to Chrome, and Chrome still doesn't log me in (it just keeps taking me to that stand alone login page). I'll need to take a look at it more closely when I have some time, maybe busted cookie or something, but that sequence of events is still weird either way.
Firefox, at least, says I'm linked to chat, so there's that.

We have long-standing issues with cookies and I honestly have never been able to figure out why. I even completely changed how we handle them and it still hasn't fixed them. Usually clearing cache and cookies will fix it. You could try Incognito mode to verify first, as that ignores your cookies.
It's expected that your original password continues working after issuing the reset, unless you change it after logging in with the reset password. The reset email says this: "If you did not request a reset password, then please disregard this email. Your existing password will continue to work and this temporary password will expire in 24 hours." This is to prevent people from griefing you by resetting your password.

It is safe to connect to it. We may take the server up and down at arbitrary times until the release, and there may not be anybody online to chat with, but if you want to set it up in your client go ahead.

I had the same problem with Chrome. I'm logged in fine here but when i went to the main site I couldn't log in even though I knew my password. Two temp passwords didn't work either, i just keep getting the login screen. I tried in explorer (making it the landmark second time i've used it, the first being to dl chrome) and I got invalid password with the temp one but was able to get in with the original one. In any event it says I'm ready for chat so hopefully there will be no lingering issues.

I go to this main page, enter my username and password, and it doesn't log in, it just brings me to a separate page with just a big username and password field. That one doesn't work either trying to enter my creds here just refreshes the page), so I click on "Forgot Password" and it sends me a new password in my email. Then, I enter my username, and copy/paste the one-time only password in and that fails. So, I wonder if I need to enter my email instead of my username, and then that doesn't work either. Then I suspect maybe it needs my email instead of my username, but no, that doesn't work either. This seems like it should be simple, but I'm not getting it to work. I can still log into the forums here, but not anything else. What am I missing?

Sounds like the cookie issue discussed above. Clear out your cookies and try again :D

EDIT: I changed the name of the session cookie. Sometimes that has helped resolve cookie issues in the past, we'll see if it helps this time.

Deleted cookies, problem seemed to go away. I had *.cohtitan.com cookies and www.cohtitan.com cookies, but only the www.cohtitan.com cookie came back (titan3952). Maybe older cookies were part of the problem, not sure.

Not only did your change allow me to log in to the main site using Chrome, it also allowed me to link my account to Paragon Wiki, which I was not able to do even after successfully logging in to the main site using Firefox.

Hmm, maybe my timing was just especially good since i just went and confirmed it was set up without any problems about an hour ago, as well as making sure all the other sites were linked to my Titan account (two were not), using Chrome. Thanks Sekoia for fixing it before i got to it. ;D

That fixed everything!
There were five "cohtitan.com" cookies, and there are now only three. I presume two of them were leftover cookies from past versions, or something like that.

Sure, you can login to the Titan site on a phone to check or modify your account. I updated the site to be "responsive" so the interface may change a bit on a phone to make it easier to work with, but the functionality is the same.
Hope your computer makes it back in time for release. :)

I don't see any issues with your account, but it's possible that your forum account password is out of sync with your Titan account password. Have you tried resetting your password? If you can't remember the email you used, PM me and I'll look it up for you.

In my test, I was on Trillian and was invited to a group chat. All I needed to do was accept, and poof it looked from my end just like a group chat. From their end I was a mysterious voice coming from thin air cue spooky sounds.

I went ahead and linked up Paragon Wiki and Ouroboros while I was in there too, didn't realize I'd never done that.

Is it possible to change global for PC and leave old username for forums? I'm stuck on a useless mobile after moving and it just endlessly reverts the global back to match my username when I hit save.

Not sure if it's what you're referencing, but the "Global Handle" field on the account management page is used by CIT and maybe Faces for display purposes and is unrelated to Paragon Chat. It's a "legacy" field from when the game was live; it's probably not as useful at this point. (I should probably add a note to the form about it.)
The username for your Titan account has to be consistent across all of our projects; so it's not possible to have one username for Paragon Chat and another for the forums.
If you can't get your phone to cooperate, you can send me a PM or email (sekoia@cohtitan.com) and let me know what you want changed and I can change it for you.

I consistently use the same user ID everywhere, except on Titan Forums for some reason. So I used this opportunity to change it to what I was in Game.

I don't see any issues with your account, but it's possible that your forum account password is out of sync with your Titan account password. Have you tried resetting your password? If you can't remember the email you used, PM me and I'll look it up for you.

Try deleting all your cookies (or at least the ones related to cohtitan), flush browser cache, close all browser windows, then reopen browser and try again. It might be some sort of state thing that's sticking the web page.

I deleted cookies, cleared history. Reopened just that page in the browser. Still I get the error.

I can only think of a couple of other things. Make sure you are not using a very old browser, make sure you aren't using a browser that has enhanced security like Internet Explorer turns on by default on servers, make sure when you close all your browser windows the browser actually fully stops (check task manager), and make sure when you try to change your Username you are changing it to something that's valid: I don't know if Titan has character restrictions on Username.
Beyond that, it might be something stuck in your account that needs resetting. Try PMing one of the Titan Admins.

Thanks for the reporting the issue. I can replicate it, so it's a server-side issue. I'm investigating and will follow up once fixed.

Can I import my issue23 costumes into this issue24?
Do I need to create a Folder in Tequila?
I notice the new style game screen w/Back Alley Brawler and some other guy, looks like megaman :roll:
so it must be working so far.
Nevermind, I copied my files to Tequila and I can see my costumes now.

I happily changed my username to one that reflects my former main character, and I was able to use the Sentinel import function to put all my saved costumes into my Icon folder. I'm so pleased that you're doing so much for this community!

I'm not sure if this is working right.
I changed my forum handle from TexasJustice to Texas Justice (added the space).
After logging out and logging back in it shows my Paragon Chat username to be Texas_Justice@chat.cohtitan.com
Is it supposed to substitute the underscore for a space?
EDIT: Nevermind. After thinking about it for a bit I realized that chat clients often don't handle spaces in names well, so converting it to underscores is semi-standard practice and the alternative would be to disallow spaces in names. That would cause some unwanted grief amongst players that have had spaces in their names for a long time now. It would also make sense then that underscores are invalid characters in a username because otherwise Texas Justice becomes Texas_Justice@chat.cohtitan.com and Texas_Justice would also be Texas_Justice@chat.cohtitan.com and that could cause too many problems.

Also I believe it was stated somewhere in the FAQ or elsewhere that that would happen to names with spaces.

yeah a lot of people are getting it, My suggestion is sit tight and wait because its probibly just the standard preopening file shuffling and a bunch of people restarting tequilia over and over. I see it as a good thing It means stuff is happening.

Important: the Dropbox account that held the Tequila manifest was shut down because of bandwidth exceeded (too many people downloading the client). You will need to either manually set the manifest to http://patch.savecoh.com/manifest.xml in the Tequila options, or wait for a new download in a few minutes that will default to that URL.

Where can I get a download that will give me a version of the game so I can load chat? My old PC that had the game downloaded on it is gone. I have a new computer...Where can I get a link to download the game or anything that will alllow chat to work?

Your password is likely incorrect. It should be the one you use to login to these forums. If not, drop one of the forum mods a PM as there was a few issues at first with people's account settings that they can fix for you.
