So I've added a few zones based on the old Icon Maps popmenu. And with Codewalkers advice, I've added room names so they don't make /mapmenu totally horrible. But I've included a new popmenu anyway!
EDIT 18/07: Added the SS Space map under Other 2: Space Obelisk.

Step 1: Head to your City of Heroes\data\texts\English\menus folder.
Create a new file unimaginatively titled Map2.mnu

Step 3: Make sure you don't accidentally save it as a .txt file.
Step 4: locate the zone.cfg file in %APPDATA%\Paragon Chat\Config
Step 5: Read the following warnings.
WARNING: If you mess up the zone.cfg, Paragon Chat won't load, and you won't be happy.
WARNING 2: I advise you never to log out in the extra zones. If zone.cfg gets changed during later updates, you won't be able to load that character until you fix zone.cfg, and you won't be happy. Note that all new zones are marked with *s in the map2 popmenu. (e.g. *Echo: Galaxy City*)
Step 6: Scroll to the end of the existing Zone.cfg, then add the sections of code in the following posts into your blank Zone.cfg file. (Or download it all here (https://app.box.com/s/96379tvtlriiywn7eyhmwpn30cmrszmp). )
Step 7: Add Map2 to your command.window file manually, or do it in game using the New Command button or typing /macro map2 "popmenu map2" and dragging it into the command window.
Step 8: Enjoy!
NOTES:
I THINK I fixed all the spawn points etc., please let me know if you find any faults.
As above, all the new, unofficial zones are listed as *Zone Name* in the popmenu for ease of identication.
Also, I had to cut out a bunch of maps that just lead to a door. Without noclip, they didn't seem much point!
I probably won't be bothering to add new zones, but if you know of any other superawesome maps, let me know!

Step 5: Back up your Zone.cfg file.
WARNING: If you mess up the zone.cfg, Paragon Chat won't load, and you won't be happy. So back it up first! Put a copy in a /backup folder for example.
That's not really necessary unless you had existing customizations there. If there is a problem with zone.cfg, you can just delete the file and Paragon Chat will create a new example file in its place.

Yes it does replace the old one completely. The different name is mostly due to testing purposes before I added *s around the extra zone names. Feel free to remove the old map menu!
FYI SuburbanHell, added SS Space, you'll need to either carefully extract and insert the new code, or just copy it all in again completely.

EDIT: Taking my post out of here; I've received some comments on it being unnecessary and think they hold weight. Orht's menu is generally substantially less cumbersome than my alternative route.

In order to find specific spawn locations, you need to go PIGG diving. I found PIGG Viewer version 1.61 works with Windows compatibility mode. As long as you have the MapFile name, it's relatively easy to locate the .bin within the PIGG file. Then you have to search it until you find the spawn locations, copy one into the zone.cfg, test it, close Paragon Chat and test the next until you find one that works and is in a reasonable location.
The main reason I used NewPlayer was due to the majority of the zones being mission maps, and it was a heck of a lot easier that way! I tested all the maps once to check for unopenable doors and such, and other than a couple that needed specific spawns, I left it at that. A bit lazy, but I figured I needed more people testing them than I could devote time to before I went away.
I will do some more testing, however if you post a list of maps where the randomness is causing an issue I will fix those ones asap.
Other than the core zone IDs, the rest are based on the old Icon map menu, with a two digit code by 'group'. If you have a look at the popmenu code in the other thread, you'll see that it's pretty easy to change/add too. Changing Zone.cfg won't affect any popmenu, they simply group up the zones for ease of viewing. However as long as you have good RoomNames, you can find them in /mapmenu easy enough (even if it's getting a bit long).
For reference, the 'groups' I used were:
Paragon City: 11
Praetoria: 22
Rogue Isles: 33
Office Maps: 44
Warehouse Maps: 55
Tech Base maps: 66
Cave maps: 77
Tunnel/Sewer maps: 88
Enemy Group maps: 99

Why are you using NewPlayer for mission maps? There's like... 3 maps that actually have a NewPlayer spawn point, Atlas, Mercy, and Nova Praetoria.

I tried leaving it blank per your suggestion, but for whatever reason paragon chat wouldn't load zone.cfg. I dropped in NewPlayer and it worked well enough to put online for beta testing.

When I was futzing around with some of the scenic maps, I used the NewPlayer tag just because I saw it used on previous entries. For the Trashed Galaxy City map, it puts you outside of the forcefield for the mission, where a new player would spawn as if it were regular Galaxy City. (Interestingly enough, Trashed Galaxy City is p much GC.) Remove the SpawnLocation line and you will appear at the start of the mission.

I'd like to figure out how to move around in the Summer Blockbuster map(s). The lobby is great and it's easy to get to the Colosseum and then the pre-staging warehouse of the Heist, but there's no going anywhere else once you're in those rooms.

Don't put SpawnLocation by itself with no parameter, that's a syntax error.
Remove SpawnLocation entirely and it will use the default behavior of picking a random door. Which is basically what happens when you try to use an invalid SpawnLocation (like NewPlayer on a map that doesn't have one -- i.e. most of them), but without having to search for and fail to find the named location first.

No, it's not, zone.cfg is what tells mapmove how to do what it does.
At some point there are plans for a "custom instance" mode which will allow use of maps that aren't in zone.cfg; and for others to be able to easily join you on those maps by synchronizing the necessary information over XMPP. That won't be for a while though.
