Title: Legends of Tomorrow Season 3
Post by: Kaos Arcanna on October 11, 2017, 10:39:36 AM

Surprisingly lighter in tone than I expected.

Yeah. Though Rip is a giant hypocrite.

When he was with them - he made just as many (if not more) stupid mistakes and messed up history just as much.

And the reason time is all broken is because they had to fix the mess he caused with the Spear of Destiny and him having his brain scrambled.

That being said - he doesn't seem to come off as the big villain they made it seem when they were describing his new role. That he would be against his old team and try to stop them at all costs.

I loved the whole MIB - "Men in Blue" homage, even down to the neur...er memory eraser.

Rory was great as usual.

Should be a fun season.

I got a good laugh out of Sara when she told Gideon to fire up the engines.  The Ray and Nate brofest was actually fairly amusing, too.  And Mick... well, Mick's always funny.

Mick is like the highlight of the show for me. Though they should make more out of him having been a Time Agency Bounty Hunter.

I loved the part where Sarah imagines killing her shitty boss. Been there, wished for that.
Yeah. Though Rip is a giant hypocrite.
A raging hypocrite *cough*Vandall Savage*cough*

I have high hopes for this season, especially since Cold is supposed to return. Or at least a version of him.

Ava can't be the mysterious hooded follower of Mallus, right?  Because that would be too predictable...

Or - we are all alone in this house after being attacked by Zombies. Lets all split up and sleep in separate rooms on three floors instead of all staying together.

Does Warner have rights to ET? I mean that was rather blatant. And the Deloran reference? Both were Universal Films I think.

Certainly my favorite out of the bunch. They really made him a great character to stand on his own, without Cold.

Another fun episode. Though a slight lack of Mick this week.

I only know about Damien from what I see here, don't watch Arrow. He didn't always have those powers right? and I am also confused which version of him this is.

He was magic in Arrow, then lost it, then got it back, then died. Just go with it.

He introduced Magic to Arrowverse, but that as a concept was generally ignored (outside of flashbacks) to waste our time with Oliver and Felicity relationship garbage.

Other than the running explanation of many of the anachronisms - being leftover damage from when they fractured time?
Title: Re: Legends of Tomorrow Season 3
Post by: Vee on November 24, 2017, 08:54:53 AM
That's not really much of an explanation, so yes? Even if it's just that a rift just happens to open up in front of all these plot-stimulating primates. Helen they gave an explanation. Caesar iirc came through a rift. But really it's getting to the point where the series is going to have to end with the revelation that they've all been asleep on a Dominator ship since the invasion.
Title: Re: Legends of Tomorrow Season 3
Post by: Tenzhi on November 24, 2017, 10:49:49 AM
Caesar had to be explained because it got the anachronism ball rolling.  Helen only needed an explanation because it wasn't the default reason.  Anything that doesn't get specifically explained can safely be assumed to have the default reason.  Until the shadow figure reveals that they've been behind it all along, anyway.  Basically, it's not important how he got there unless/until it's important how he got there.

OK, so we're just gonna keep it hovering on the explanation scale just slightly north of the professor's helmet that let Batman & Robin time travel and well south of Mr. Peabody.

I'd put it in about the same place as the question of whether people ever pee in TNG - never explicitly addressed, but there are very safe assumptions to be made and it's not particularly important.

Well 24th Century humans don't value money or wealth as they have grown beyond that and only strive for betting themselves. Maybe they have grown beyond having to pee.

Personally, I was disappointed by the lack of Uncle Sam, Human Bomb, Doll Man, and/or Phantom Lady.  Seemed like a waste of an Earth X opportunity.  Cheery Snart was disturbing, too.  The crossover started out well, but ended up just kinda alright.

Yes, first time. And i was upset that Stein was the only one who died too, but I didn't tear up.

Really wish they had the budget to make the shows more like this all the time. Having some actual halfway cool stuff interspersed with the ridiculous conversations and bad acting was nice for a change.

And Ms. Marvel needs to sue.

There were a few others they could have had as back up - Superman - Jay Garrick - either would have made it too easy or the actors were not available.

Yeah right he left.  Just like Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller and Maisie Richardson-Sellers left.  At the very least I'm sure he will do Rip Hunter like appearances.  But honesty I expect them to do exactly what they did with Purcell and Sellers.  A couple years, or a couple eons passes for the character.  A couple weeks passes for the crew. A couple episodes passes for us. Remember it was just a couple weeks ago that we were assured that the crossover was absolutely the last time Snart would ever appear anywhere in the tv universe.

Ok so let me understand this -

Wally could have just gotten the record and delivered it to the radio station and minimized any chance of changing the past more then it has already.

Zari's idea is to go and speak and interact with people from the past, which would cause even MORE changes since these people would now have spoken to someone from the future, who never should have even been there in the first place.

And she says they are the scalpel? No wonder they mess up all the time.

Somebody go make Trombone Hero immediately.

They have the same illogic with time travel as the Flash.

The things around them change, even Steel's hairstyle, yet they personally aren't affected by the timeline changes as they have no idea about all the changes.

I can see in the ship they should not be affected being outside of time - but then stuff like the video game and the rat's name shouldn't change either.

or in the episode with the Vikings - the Time Bureau people were all affected by the changes and you would think they would be protected.

Yes he is and the band does great mashups. He would be a much better replacement singer for Journey that Arnold Pinata or whatever that guys name is.

Plus, I miss the Professor. Firestorm was a big part of why I enjoyed any of this.

I agree. Season 3 finale was let down for me. I was disappointed. Season 2 finale is way better.

Okay... that may have been the stupidest thing I've ever seen on a live action TV show.

Sadly that wasn't even the stupidest CW show of the week. Arrow ftw

Oh god...  I didn't notice the first time, but Beebo's final explosion was heart shaped...

I just think of this show as the comic relief of the group.

My real problem is they change history like ALL the time and it never seems to effect anything yet Barry makes one little mistake.................

If you watched this twice I'm surprised your heart didn't explode.

Just the Beebo fight.  I felt the need to inflict it on friends.

Having finally caught up, I can say that Arrow wasn't even close.  Just bog standard TV stupid.

Nah, legends was intentionally silly. Arrow using ridiculous tv hallucinations not only in the usual trite tv way but also to drive the whole stupid plot wins it for me.

Seems that Constantine will be a regular next season?

Certainly hope so.

That was established before the last series was over.

I do love they change up the cast every year or so - makes it more interesting.

I thought that just meant he'd be a recurring character, not a regular.

Maybe they can finish the dropped storyline from his series while they're at it.  I really did enjoy that show.  Shame the network didn't know what to do with it.

Guess that was early on. Now I think they have a better track record on DC TV.

I never watched his original series, but I am familiar with him from the comics and did love him in Legends.

And the girl playing Amaya is coming back, but as another character - should be fun for Nate.
