Not quite as kooky as I thought it should be, but still everything I wanted in a Doom Patrol series. Jane needs more Crazy.
My one complaint (but isn't really) is that Caulder doesn't seem old enough.
Kinda iffy about Cyborg. We'll see.
-
I thought it was OK. Maybe trying a bit too hard on the meta with the narration. Dalton as Caulder was a huge improvement over weirdo rapey guy from the Titans episode. Going it improves as it goes along like Titans did.
-
Is this another series they're trying to peddle via their streaming service?
-
Mmhmm, and they seem like they're going to trickle out one at a time too.
-
That's too bad. With the likes of fat Brendan Fraser, Alan Tudyk, and Lord Rassilon in it, I'd totally watch it.
-
I thought the second ep was better. I'm actually half interested in it now rather than just watching out of my usual compulsion. I like this Cyborg a lot better than the JL movie one. The atm scene was well done.
-
Agreed about Cyborg, but I wasn't very impressed with the JL movie version. It still feels weird to have him with DP.
-
Well, one of my questions has been answered. Both Titans and Young Justice are now available on Vudu, and I'm sure Doom Patrol will be as well as soon as it's season finishes. So DC isn't going to pull an Amazon and keep their exclusive productions unavailable except to people who have a membership to their streaming service. They will probably be released on blu-ray as well.
Now $25 for 13 episodes is a little too pricey but I'm sure it will drop or I will get one of those % off codes so I'm perfectly willing to wait.
-
I'm actually liking it now. It had to grow on me a bit like Titans did.
There's supposed to be a free day on march 30th for Batman anniversary but it's limited and doesn't include any of the new original stuff.
-
Cyborg is still weird (in that he's not weird enough), but this is turning out to be one of the best live-action superhero tv series of all time, imo.
-
Ok I want crazy cliff every episode now.
-
Admiral Whiskers!
I think the crazy Cliff was all him. Cliff is always fun.
-
Finally got around to finishing. Beard hunter needs a spin-off.
edit: not finished. i really have a hard time keeping track of when dc shows end. thought sure since 10 eps and swamp thing trailer it was done, but evidently 15 eps.
-
and it should've ended at 10. Meh start, got better, started dragging, couple really fun episodes, then more dragging and a terrible ending. Last few eps about killed what good will i'd built up.
-
Completely disagree. Those last few episodes were golden and probably the best of any DC TV project ever!
