I know people said they'd started them, but I can't find the threads. Anyone here in one? I used to be on Virtue server, light rp/rp friendly is best for me.
-
Maybe people could list them here? I plan on trying CO again soon and I'd like to know where all my Cities lovelies are. We can all be n00bs together <3
-
They do exist. What might help in your search is to /channel_join CoX if you haven't yet and ask around.
One I see around every so often is called the Shards of Virtue, as an example.

The Shards of Virtue (has many CoH players including me :) )
Web site: http://shardsofvirtue.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=462034&TabID=3983515 (http://shardsofvirtue.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=462034&TabID=3983515)

There's also CoX Refugees.
-
Not really targeted for CoH players, but I will drop it here nonetheless because I have had too much fun there.
So if you are interested in RP and a very fun SG with awesome people look here (http://www.shadaree.dk/ultimateguardians/viewforum.php?f=16). ;)

Dumb question: Are they actually called "Supergroups"?
-
They are! And I saw someone from Shards of virtue in the Pocket D over there last night, but didn't want to bug.

They have a Pocket D??

Champions Online has Club Caprice

Wow, this game certainly took more than a few pages from City. Kind of cool, but I'd prefer the real thing if possible ;)
-
It's not Pocket D. Club Caprice is the local equivalent, though.
It's actually sort of like two different clubs rolled into one instance.
There's the techno-dance bar with flashing neon strobes, lasers, etc. That part's more like Pocket D (though without the glass floor and amazing outside view of the Shadow Shard).
Then on the other end of the club is a quiet, "high class jazz club" area. Roman columns, plush seating, fountain with pool, wood paneling, potted plants. It's the kind of place you'd expect Bruce Wayne to hold a fundraiser in.
-
Warning: googlling Club Caprice and going for the image section may bring up a LOT of American adult comic content... :o not safe for work

It was designed by the same Lead Designer (Jack Emmert, aka Statesman) as City of Heroes was waaaay back at launch. He took his studio (Cryptic) off City of Heroes to go do Champions.
There were some differences of opinion before then, most notably that Jack felt that at every turn the development team was making City of Heroes too easy, even though players liked almost all the changes he ranted about. (The two big exceptions I know of were Travel Suppression and Enhancement Diversification.)
I don't bear Jack any ill will, especially since he ultimately decided to keep more than a few things from the old project in the new one. But when he left, I can't honestly say I was sad to see him go.
-shrug- But, hey, Champions is still up and running, so he may yet wind up getting my money again after all.

The Golden Age Heroes of which I am a part have made the move over to CO.
For the moment we're mostly working on the final transitional details, IE getting the team as it was over to CO and all established and kinks ironed out, but we're there! Just not quite ready to expand the ranks yet, as it were.

I've found that the 'global' channel CoX is actually a cross-game channel. People in STO can chat on that channel as well.

This is an inherent thing of the global chat system in general, I think.

It's all going through Crypticspace.com on the XMPP protocol.
That's why you can use pidgin (or trillian) to chat in global channels :)
-
I recently got Pidgin. How do you set that up?

Without going too far off topic, this link (http://halcyonacademy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=co&action=display&thread=1173) should have what you need!

Be warned, at present you can't authorize to that client unless you're a Gold member for at least one Cryptic game.
-
Well no worries then, I'm a gold subscriber to Champions.
-
It is a useful ability if you ARE gold however.
