Big NPC Menu (or, the MFH)

download NPC Menu for Icon 1.71 here:

https://app.box.com/s/y4v3ofnfcwv3vifrn6ja

download Time Menu for Icon 1.71 here:

https://app.box.com/s/0xj6i4fkk64sbi2afd6n

NPC Menu updated 9/16/13

How To Use

download from link above, and place in your Coh folder, in \data\texts\English\menus
and then, type /popmenu npc in the chat window, and press enter

or, you can bind to a key of your choice, using ( bind 'keyname' popmenu npc ) and at the press of a button, all the mobs and objects will be yours to use and abuse as you see fit.
and don't forget to add ( bind_save ) when you are done, so it saves your keybind. the next time you load keybinds, it will still be there.

tip- you might want to start with your pointer over in the upper left hand corner of your screen, sometimes menus do go on a bit.

...

this is the Big NPC Menu. or as it has become known to me, the NPC MFH (menu from hell).

I made this for myself as an accessory to Icon, and I use it every time I go ingame.

I finally decided it's done enough to share with others.

This is made with references from the Coh codex, the Paragon wiki, and the 8 thousand item long list of npcs on google docs. I know it's not "everything", but I did what I could short of insanity. (i think)

This is for picture takers, film makers, or if you just want an inpromtu boombox dance party in the Atlas Park of your choice.

npc models and costume set models make good "other players" many times, there are a lot of npcs I just didnt happen to run across ingame, so they're new to me, and I use em.

Basic structure of the menu-   when you first open it, you'll find:

A basic starting list. Every line where there is an arrow, it opens up more.

And as you open it up, you'll find things like:

Mobs were so long, they had to be broken down into 2 lists.

and in Pets, Masterminds, you can see how things are always arranged.

Generally, a mob list will  start with the smallest critters and work their way down to the big bosses, giant monsters, and various npcs.

The hierarchy of a list.

and don't forget objects as well as npcs- it considers many objects to be npcs as well

some are in groups when theres many items of a type, and some are single objects.

Some really are just effects, like the alarm. Remember the blaring lights and sound inside a bank of jewelry store? it's right here, in the single objects (part 1).

The alarm, just dropped on a counter. The light flashes, and it's noisy.

you have no idea how loud this is right now- unless you've done bank mishes, of course. Then you're already covering your ears.

Combine NPCs and Objects..
You can add citizens, cars and a blimp to the street, add some walkcycle emotes, and its a much more normal looking day.

cars turn on headlights at night, and they make car sounds, which is nice.

and so do tanks, aiming spotlights up at giant monsters. Tank are in Vehicles, Military.

Here is a simple shot of a tank with it's lights on, at night. The tank is on the right, in case you're distracted.
And yes, there is a section called "Fires" in objects, in case you , too, feel the need to light up a few trees.

and speaking of monsters, they can be found each in their appropriate section, and then AGAIN in giant monsters list at bottom, in case you just want a giant monster tea party- who wants to spend time looking up just the giant monsters? I don't.

they'll still work if you don't, but can be harder to see.

I know there are many things missing, but I don't know what exactly. at this point, I'm blind from several weeks working on it and testing.

if there is something missing you can't live without, ask and i will try to fix it.

if you find a problem, ask and I will try to fix it.

I'm not making films, but i use it to dress up an area I'm playing in, like Croatoa or Halloween, or the Ski Chalet.  I already have a server for another game, DAoC, and I'm ok with making up my own stories and changing everything to suit myself. In fact by this point, I almost expect it.

and then there are the tea partys. Huge, huge tea partys.

so, play around with it, rewrite it if you want, ask for help if you want it, and have fun. once again, thanks to the Mighty Codewalker who made Icon available to all, and wyldhunt who steered me onto menus in the first place by sharing the wonderful Maps Menu.

and one last note... this has given you a brief look into the state of my city today. Although not completely back up to fully functional, it is also not the smouldering ruin it once was. The streets are cleaning up pretty well, transportation is being restored between city regions thanks to the maps menu, and life is slowly returning. It is getting better. It will get better still. Work with what you have, and appreciate the little things. It's a lot easier that way.

Ahhh, this looks brilliant. I can't even imagine how much work it was to organize all these NPCs and objects into a menu system. I am looking forward to trying it out. This will make overcrowding City Hall (against the strict AP fire code) so much easier.

Thank you very much for sharing this.

Are the old Praetorian AV designs the only ones in the menus, Batqueen?

They are, so I sifted through the listings to get the new models.  I also include Bobcat in her burglar outfit in case you need the Praetor of Cuteness to do a quick B & E for you.  What needs added under the Praetorian menu should be:
Code: [Select]
Option "Battle Maiden- New" "beginchat /spawn_npc GR_Battle_Maiden Battle Maiden"
Option "Black Swan- New" "beginchat /spawn_npc Model_GR_BlackSwan_NoRing Black Swan"
Option "Bobcat- New" "beginchat /spawn_npc Model_Bobcat_GR_NoRing Bobcat"
Option "Bobcat- Burglar" "beginchat /spawn_npc Model_Bobcat_GR_Burglar Bobcat"
Option "Chimera- New" "beginchat /spawn_npc Chimera_Endgame Chimera"
Option "Diabolique- New" "beginchat /spawn_npc Diabolique_01 Diabolique"
Option "Marauder- New" "beginchat /spawn_npc Signature_Marauder_NoRing Marauder"
Option "Mother Mayhem- New" "beginchat /spawn_npc Signature_Mother_Mayhem_01 Mother Mayhem"
Option "Neuron- New" "beginchat /spawn_npc Signature_Neuron_01_NoRing Neuron"
Option "Tyrant- New" "beginchat /spawn_npc P_Endgame_Tyrant_01 Tyrant"

As well, Back Alley Brawler got a clothing swap at some point so you may want to add
Code: [Select]
Option "Back Alley Brawler- New" "beginchat /spawn_npc Model_Back_Alley_Brawler_02 Back Alley Brawler"
A couple of side notes- I'm not seeing what's different in the "new" Chimera model.  Maybe it would be a change in weapons.  As for BABs, the poor guy, there is listed in the NPC code a "03" and a "04" model.  Both of those use pieces from the Post Apocalyptic costume pack (in specific they were finally going to give the man decent hair) and in the 03 model... I'm not sure what was going on with his arms  :o

Thank you, Tacitala- I am not really familiar with the Praetorian stuff, so this is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. I didn't even know there were variants on the models! I'll get to adding them in, and let you know when updated.   :)

UPDATE: menu file updated to show added models, redownload from link above for new version. And thank you Tacitala!

Post by: batqueen on August 02, 2013, 01:33:25 AM
@Torroes Prime (and all others interested) - thanks to your post and some fiddling, I got a working popmenu for maps! While "loadmap" doesn't work in popmenu entries, "beginchat" does, and that's all I needed for a workaround. Here's a maps.mnu file with all the City, Hazard, Trial, etc. maps for Paragon, Praetoria, Rogue Isles, Coop, and PvP: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5FhLhcBjWhvQ2g0bW5LLU9jTFE/edit?usp=sharing (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5FhLhcBjWhvQ2g0bW5LLU9jTFE/edit?usp=sharing). This could of course be expanded for the mission maps and such, and other menus could be made for animations (/mov commands) and NPCs.

For those who want to use this but are unfamiliar with popmenu, check http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Popmenu (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Popmenu) to get started.

I didn't even know there were variants on the models!
the funny thing is that Manticore and Chimera had their models (mostly the hoods) updated a few times, but destroyed all evidence that they ever looked differently.  Paranoid much, Sinclair(s)?
Thanks for adding them in, Batqueen!

You seem to have put Overdrive in for Penny Yin's model, Batqueen.  (Overdrive is also correctly under her own name.)
She has a lot of alternate models for both Primal and Praetorian, and I don't wish to presume as to which ones you want to bother including.  (I'd suggest Faultline and Freedom Phalanx Primals and Patient and Mayhem Praetorians to cover original and endgame models.)
If you need context on them, I will happily help with that, but here are model names for you for now.

MindsOfMayhem_MotherYin
MindsOfMayhem_PenelopeYin
Model_Patient_Yin
Model_Patient_Yin_NoRing
Model_Penelope_Mayhem
Model_Penelope_Mayhem_Awakened
Model_Penelope_Yin
Model_Penelope_Yin_MoM
Model_Penelope_Yin_New
Model_Penelope_Yin_New_Contact
Model_Penelope_Yin_No_ring
Signature_Praetorian_PenelopeYin_Endgame

EDIT: Also, Taci says that you used the model of Mother Mayhem with a ring.  Adding "_Noring" fixes it.

Also, you missed the Avatar of Hamidon in Giant Monsters. "Avatar_Hamidon_Large" for truly big version...
Title: Re: Big NPC Menu for Icon (or, the MFH)
Post by: batqueen on August 02, 2013, 04:59:07 AM
Ha! you're right, and Overdrive isn't spelled anything remotely like Yin...  :o

I admit it, I'm confused by the list of Penelope Yins, and where they could go. If you could help sort out which are good guys, and which are Praetorians, I would be grateful. I took one toon to level 15 in Praetoria, was so confused by the place, I trashed it and remade it as a villain, and happily went back to the Rogue isles. I've done more research on it doing this than I ever spent time there, lol.

Thank you again for this menu, it's going to make screenshots so much easier.  Don't worry about being confused about which Penelope Yin is which- I suspect Penny's confused about the matter herself.

I'm not listing the versions with rings at her feet for simplicity.

Young, Faultline Primal Penny.
Model_Penelope_Yin_No_ring

Older, Freedom Phalanx Primal Penny
Model_Penelope_Yin_New

The Praetorian versions:

Mother's prisoner during the 1-20 Goldside content
Model_Patient_Yin_NoRing
(Signature_Praetorian_PenelopeYin_Endgame appears to be identical to the above model)

Minds of Mayhem Trial versions, small and large (in order) versions of Mother-possessed Penny-
MindsOfMayhem_PenelopeYin
MindsOfMayhem_MotherYin

Small and large (in order) versions of Penelope Mayhem-
Model_Penelope_Mayhem
Model_Penelope_Yin_MoM

Awakened (damaged/corrupted costume, glowing eyes, hair going white) version of Penelope Mayhem-
Model_Penelope_Mayhem_Awakened

That's all of the versions of Penny I know of.

I guess someone just dropped a dime.

@ Phaetan-
Thank you so much for listing the different Penelopes! I'll take a whack at getting them all in, in the right places, lol.

@Tacitala-
When I tested out my changes last night, I dropped an Avatar of Hamidon- and the whole street and park around me darkened and shaded, but I couldn't see the monster. I knew that was the one I was looking for, even before I ran forward, turned around, looked up and went 'oh my ghawd'!

@ RockLeeXIII-
Glad to hear it, you just cant have enough "Halloween holocausts"tm as far as I'm concerned...

@makjwalton
hope you got it running! OzonePrime gave an excellent description.

Menu has been updated to add Penelope Yins. Redownload from same link on first page to get the new one!

Here's how it came out...

in Heroes section-
Penelope Yin,  Freedom Phalanx

in NPCs, page 4-
Penelope Yin,  Young, Faultline

in Praetorian Villains -
Signature Praetorian Penelope Yin
Penelope Mayhem Awakened

in Praetorian Villain Minions, Mother Mayhem Minions-
Penelope Yin, Mothers prisoner
Mother Yin
Mother Yin, large
Penelope Mayhem
Penelope Mayhem, large

In Giant Monsters-
Mother Yin, large
Penelope Mayhem, large

there may be still one or two changes needed if I didn't get this right.  when I first went to look things up in the wiki, before you posted the pics, I found one description of a mission with Mother Yin. I thought, oh, so I'm looking for her mother, an older lady with gray hair, like me! ho ho, nooo. a lot more reading showed I was way off base, lol.  :o  Thanks for the pics and models. I'm also glad to get the right model of Mother Mayhem, I had the old model, and I knew that wasn't what I was looking for.

Sorry for this basic question...

I'm having a problem getting the popup menus working. I've read the Paragon Wiki on Popmenus. The thing I'm confused on is that it says to put the .mnu file in the
<COH_INSTALL_DIRECTORY>\data\texts\<LANGUAGE>\Menus\ directory.

I am not seeing this, or else I'm looking in the wrong place. I had to download the client files via torrent since I didn't have the client anymore. (Could that be why?)

I created a folder for City of Heroes in C:\ Program Files. Then I dropped the CoHBeta folder I downloaded into that.  So I have C:\ Program Files\City of Heroes\CoHBeta

The CoHBeta only has 4 subfolders: cider, doublefusion, piggs, and qt_pluggins. But no data folder, so I'm confused on when to put the .mnu files.

I tried creating a \data\texts\English\Menus\ directory in CoHBeta (as well as City of Heroes), and putting the maps.mnu and npc.mnu files there, but no luck.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Post by: batqueen on August 03, 2013, 10:12:16 PM
Maybe someone else who knows better can help with this...
the Cohbeta folder IS the top level folder for Coh in Program files. You don't need to put Cohbeta into into a Coh folder. I don't know if that's the problem or not. Once you have just C:\ Program Files\CoHBeta, then  \data\texts\English\Menus\   goes into that,  and your file goes into the menus folder.
See if this helps.

Are you using a Mac? Because I had a hard time with that too.

The folder you need to find is "data" the rest you have to create and name.

On a mac you right-click on the file in your applications folder and select "package contents" from there it's Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/coh/Data
Then inside the data folder you create this nest of folders texts/English/menus/ and that's where you place the mnu files.

On a separate matter,  I'm in the process of doing an update, adding in the Summer Event NPCs, and making any corrections i find. Are there any mess-ups anyone has found- NPCs that don't spawn, wrong models, ect? I found a missing Vampire Lord in Halloween. Now would be a good time to fix it.

Just updated: Vampire Lord fixed in Halloween, and because Summer Event Theater was added to maps, just added Summer Event to Holidays, Summer Event. Some really great NPCs found there, also added to Various NPCs, Giant Monsters, and Selectable Dogs added to Various Pets.
Redownload from link on 1st page of post to update.  :)

Taci and I whipped up a few more models for you, batqueen.  Mostly Praetorian- 116 entries, precoded as best we could.  Let me know if this doesn't work and I need to email you the text file.  I couldn't find the models for Granny Beldame, Three Jaguars, or Trina the Body Sculptress.

OK! this took a lot longer than I thought, all day, but is a major update. And I thought I was done with it last time!  :o

Thanks to Phaetan and Tacitala, there were a lot of new NPCs to enter. A few of them were already in, in their respective mob groups, but most were not. We've got new bunches of Praetorian Npcs, First Ward Npcs, and I looked up Night Ward NPCs as well.

Granny Beldam was found, but the only model has a ring. Trina the Pocket D Npc has been added to a new group called Tailors, she has a ring as well and can't find a no ring model for that either. If you have to have a no- ring version of those for a pic or film, my only suggestion would be to build one using those as a guide and load it using /load costume

The floating effects Animus Arcana NPCs of First Ward are up in Objects, categories, because even though they are listed as NPCs, they are mostly stuff to fool with.

Here are a few more things that have been added....

a Black Hawk - looking Helocopter, in flight, heavily armed. In objects, flying stuff

if you watch the bombs as they fall, they're old style bombs. In objects, categories, bombs.

Various items of power, floating iron balls with runes, the Rularuu book of power, in objects, categories, Items of Power.

the hellions fire rune,(objects, fire, and hellions mob) NPCs associated with the Trilogy book,(first ward npcs) and who knows what else.

All this and more can be yours for the paltry price of re-downloading, from the usual link in the first post...

It's had a pretty good rewrite today, and I'm pooped. Sorry for misspellings, and things like that. Big, big thanks to Phaetan and Tacitala, for their hard work in getting part of this together, Codewalker for Icon, and Wyldhunt for menu work.

Oh, you did! it would have taken even longer if not for the work you guys did. :) many thanks

I really tried to find the missing models, and found 2 out of the 3. I found an actual Jaguar, and a scaled down house cat, but no  "three Jaguars".  and the cats I did find had no texture, and were white. I'm sure it was an NPC, not an animal, but never could find the darn thing, or even a pic on the wiki telling me what I was looking for.
Oh well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad... (meatloaf singing in background)

Three Jaguars is NW_SpiritPanther_01

He's Githredeon's pet cat in Night Ward. Might even be a static NPC that shows up in Icon, not sure.

I thought Three Panthers had a unique model.  I guess I was mistaken.  Thank you for the clarification, Codewalker.

PS- could we please get an ICON subforum?  It would make tracking ICON itself and these addon popmenus much easier.

I'll admit it was terrible spawning the NPCs one by one and all that.

Shouldn't it be 8/5/13!?

And, at the risk of sounding stupid (seems I risk that a lot these days), may I ask what MFH stands for? I don't get to check in here as often as I'd like and that's a foreign one to me as yet.

Big NPC Menu (or, the MFH)

. . . .<Snip!>
How To Use

download from link above, and place in your Coh folder, in \data\texts\English\menus
and then, type /popmenu npc in the chat window, and press enter

or, you can bind to a key of your choice, using ( bind 'keyname' popmenu npc ) and at the press of a button, all the mobs and objects will be yours to use and abuse as you see fit.
and don't forget to add ( bind_save ) when you are done, so it saves your keybind. the next time you load keybinds, it will still be there.

tip- you might want to start with your pointer over in the upper left hand corner of your screen, sometimes menus do go on a bit.
signing off.

<Snip!>. . .

It took me a long time and many re-reads to find that! Perhaps for the brain impaired among us like me, that should be the opening paragraph of this thread.

Thank you for the wonderful tool, along with the Popmenu Maps it makes revisiting the old CoX ghost towns much more fun!

...never could find the darn thing, or even a pic on the wiki telling me what I was looking for.

Looks like Codewalker got you the actual model, but I was able to find a pic on the Wiki: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/File:Three_Jaguars.jpg Right now none of the "Notable NPCs" from the Night Ward have their own pages, or even a redirect to something else, so nothing links to that pic on the Wiki, which is probably why it was hard to find. I ended up searching for Whispering Coyote, which led me to the category page for that image: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Category:Praetorian_Mission_NPC_Images . Many of those pictures don't have articles about their subject - seems like that ought to change...

Also: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/File:Githredeon_and_Three_Jaguars.jpg

Edit: I just found an interesting page on the Wiki: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Dr._Aeon_%28Clone%29 Apparently, Dr. Aeon can create clones of himself, and "some clones have alternate (and amusing) looks." Any chance those "amusing" clones are available in the Menu?
Title: Re: Big NPC Menu for Icon (or, the MFH)
Post by: batqueen on August 12, 2013, 07:54:48 PM
thanks for the info on Three Jaguars!

I ran into those same problems with the wiki, a Lot of information out there! but then, I got spoiled, and when the pages ran dry of info, it got a lot harder. The only Dr Aeon models I know of besides the main, is the Dr Echo models, in NPCs part 2- and I'm pretty sure those are not what you're looking for. Those are Dr Aeon at different ages, not wacky models. Without pics from the wiki to confirm found models, there is no way to tell if some of the npc models, whether in the menu or still on the list are actually Dr clones.   :(  I'm going to take another look, and see if I can spot something suspicious,  I already found out that I left out the Behemoths, giant devil guys.

I'm not listing the versions with rings at her feet for simplicity.
[so many models!]

This is why cleaning up her Wiki pages was terrible. What happens in the trial when she gets possessed by Mother Mayhem? I don't think the Wiki has any pictures or references to that happening. I certainly hadn't seen that model before.
Title: Re: Big NPC Menu for Icon (or, the MFH)
Post by: batqueen on August 13, 2013, 07:16:46 PM
I was reading the wiki, trying to get clues as to what happened, I saw references to Mother Yin in the models, and expected the model to have gray hair- oh, her mother is in this story! that conclusion that I made was waayy wrong. Without Phaetan's help, I would've really had trouble classifying all those models.
"what the hell, devs? did you really need 57 different models of Penny Yin? Give me a break here! :o"
[Conversation between me and the wiki, exaggerations may be involved]

I, too, would like to see more work on the wiki continued. Unfortunately, I am not a good source for what happened when. It also says something that a game that is supposedly gone for good is still this active, and work on the wiki still matters.

I've been trying to recall the precise details of the MoM trial, but it's been too long and it's gotten a bit fuzzy.  It doesn't help that it was a very busy iTrial, with frequent scene changes and enough Giant Monsters to flatten Tokyo.

"what the hell, devs? did you really need 57 different models of Penny Yin? Give me a break here! :o"

And the first one with her in the hat and t-shirt is still the best outfit in the group.

Apparently the horrible fashion disaster of her red-and-white-with-all-the-belts outfit came after her Praetorian counterpart (the giant purple and black one).  Personally, I blame the Primal Penny's questionable fashion choice on her maternal genetics.

Are you talking about Bad Penny?   That's not an incarnation of Penny Yin.   He's a Rogue Isles villain (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Bad_Penny).

I meant the one that looks like Mother Mayhem.

And I have to say I did enjoy the addition of Bad Penny to round out the dime. Made me chuckle.

Hope I can get this to you before you re-upload the Icon 1.71 version.

Two things I caught- on the option for Dillo, you need a space between "spawn_npc" and "Dillo" and you didn't put in the name Fireball (one of the Animus) after its model name.  They're really minor fixes, so they can wait if you don't see this in time. :)

added to list of what was added this update.

and I really like the way that things are popping into being now, and the way the skys change at the push of a button with the Time menu. I added more times to the time menu, to be able to get more of a passing time feeling.

They really went all out with the sky in Praetoria.  You can see slight changes in the sky every hour (if not half hour some times) when your graphics are turned up.

To get this new version to work as /popmenu npc,  I had to edit the third line in the file so that it says:

Menu "NPC"

rather than:

Menu "NPC_1.71"

Although it would work for me before editing by typing:

 /popmenu npc_1.71

Hey, thank you all and great job so far, but has anyone else had this problem? I can use the popmenu to edit the time, but when I try anything like /popmenu maps, the menu does pop up, but when I select which map I want to go to, nothing happens. This also happens when I try to use the /popmenu mov. After I select whatever it is that I'm trying to do, nothing appears in the chat box like it does with /popmenu npc. By the way, while the original /popmenu npc works fine, when I update it to version 1.71 it doesn't work, even when I try typing in /popmenu npc_1.71. Like I said, is anyone else having this problem?

Sorry, I'm slow with things like this.

Also, I found a few more NPCs - the Council Empire! Their codes are as follows:

Axis_America_Boss_01
Axis_America_Lt_01
Axis_America_Minion_01

Thanks!

If the title is a problem, I'm going to change the title back to NPC, instead of NPC_1.71- hold on a sec while I change it-

Npc download-

https://app.box.com/s/y4v3ofnfcwv3vifrn6ja

Time download-

https://app.box.com/s/0xj6i4fkk64sbi2afd6n

also, these shouldn't break old key binds, because they are now named the same as they used to be.

see if this helps.

Maybe a dumb question, but are you sure you're running Icon 1.71? It shows the version number in yellow text when you zone in the first time after creating a character.

To be clear, the files are now named inside and out, what they used to be- just "npc" and "time", this should eliminate any problems from that, and they'll work with key binds already made for those menus. Sorry for my brain damage on renaming those files.

and,  :) added Council Axis America to Council, Council Empire

Wow, I can't believe it didn't occur to me that Icon 1.71 was different from 1.7. I guess I just thought that since the other versions were entire tenths of a number away from the last one that it would be Icon 1.8 instead of Icon 1.71. Anyway, sorry to cause all of this. Thanks for your help, and it works perfectly now! Great job everyone!

PPD_Undercover_Cop_01 - reversed baseball cap, half-goatee, jeans
PPD_Undercover_Cop_02 - bald, aviators, shorts

You do not use these with the Character Creator.  Instead you download the i24 CoH and then use Icon 1.7.1; without that setup the most recent popmenu files will not function properly as they utilize hooks inserted by Codewalker specifically for their benefit.

Instructions and links to the files needed are located on this page. (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Titan_Icon)

Hope I catch you while you're still making changes.  If not, these are minor enough they can wait.

I've been working on making screenshot for all of my character's doing stuff.  So while I was setting up the scene of my loyalist fire/fire blaster raining fiery doom upon the Resistance, I spotted a pair of changes:

Under the Praetorian NPCs, Beholder's model should be 'Model_Beholder_NoRing'.  Likewise, the model for Praetorian Calvin Scott should be 'Calvin_Scott_01_NoRing'.  Both popped up as a no doubt confused primal Calvin Scott.

It doesn't have it's own thread, so in the time menu you also need to set the 1 PM setting as time 13 (it's currently listed as time 1).

Real life interferes from time to time :)

While continuing my way through the above project (this time putting my heroic demon mastermind, Infernal, Desdemona, and their pets on the dance floor of Pocket D), I spotted that you seem to have left Des and her booty shorts out of the list.

Her main model is 'Signature_Desdemona_01_NoRing' and after she gets Prae. Devore's mask it's 'Signature_Desdemona_NoRing_Mask'.

I'm not sure how you'll want to file her away- you fight her as both a villain and a hero before she hops gold side. Perhaps without her mask under just the general NPC list and her with the mask under NPCs, Praetorian?

Sorry I keep finding more things to add to the list.  :P Feel free to tell me to knock it off if need be.

Well, you can read back through the main Icon thread for some discussions about bases, and how close things are or are not to getting bases. I don't know what is supposed to be in Recluse's Victory, but the robots you may be looking for might be under Vangard, towards the top of the list, or under Arachnos, with some of their spider bots. I couldn't find anything like your descriptions in the quick search of the NPC Base List I did, but I'll look at it again later.

The First Ward giant monster is called Seed_Hamidon. It doesn't seem to be in the menu.
I think the Heavy for heroes is Longbow>Longbow Various>Freedom Corp Cataphract in the menu.
Not sure about the villain one. Maybe Arachnobot Disruptor Heavy Pet under Mobs.

It's very late, but it's still night, so it still counts. The NPC Menu has been updated, as follows...

Paragon, Rogue Isles, and First Ward have had the citizens re-sorted and categorized by clothing.

The undercover cops were added to Paragon Police, and to Paragon Citizens, Male, Casual, Hawaiian as well. (Gives us 2 more tacky shirted guys.)

Desdemona added to Villains, she started as a mastermind, after all.
Desdemona with mask added to Praetorian NPC's.

Beholder, Calvin Scott and Calvin Scott Praetorian given right models.

Seed of Hamidon was added to Devouring Earth, Hamidon, and to Giant Monsters list. It's not only huge, it's noisy, and you can hear it from a long ways away in Atlas.  truly a monster.

Yes, create the sub-folders. After you get the menu(s) in place you can use /popmenu maps or bind that to a key or follow any of the instructions given in the thread to make the menu appear.

You can make NPCs do emotes, but there is no command to move around. Some of the cars roll their wheels, but that is part of the animations they come with. You can calculate out how to move things beside yourself in demo edits, but not in ICON, and that takes someone else to tell you how to do that.   ;)

I've just started messing around with this (it's AWESOME!). Some things aren't targetable, like the Atlas Blimp (I maaaay have decided to see what would happen when I added it and sort of ruin a shot of several of my characters). Is there a way to remove them without using /clearnpc? Because if you add one in the wrong spot (like the blimp halfway underground) after putting other stuff in, it's a real shame to mess it up.

You can use shift+delete to remove a targetted NPC - the problem is that the Atlas Blimp (and I think other things) are not targetable, so if I mis-place them, they can't be moved or removed, as far as I know.

Yes, I know what you mean. Sometimes when I'm spawning lots of npcs for a screenie or video or whatever reason, if I'm not sure how the spawn will work or act, I'll spawn it at another location first. And then select it, move to the desired location, and press G to drag and drop it where I originally wanted it to go. But ther than that, I don't know either. I've been wondering the same.

You install ICON to your City of Heroes directory, not its own separate one. Then the NPC menu goes inside the /data/(etc) folder of the City of Heroes directory.

All basic commands work like ;tantrum or ;alakazamreact, but I can't get to be Imperious or do cole's crazy ground punch.  Any help would be great!  ;D

Oh, and TYVM FOR THIS! I appreciate any thing that helps further the utility of these programs.

ICON and Paragon Chat are two separate programs. The commands are generally not interchangeable. All of the commands in this thread are for ICON. You want to head down to the Paragon Chat General forum for Paragon Chat stuff:

I tried that(Creating folders) but the box doesn't appears when i write /popmenu NPC, is there a special box where i have to put it, or did the command has changed? Directory where I installed it: C:\Users\NuniKid\Downloads\Titan\data\texts\English. Also I used Tequila, I don't know if that changes something, please answer

My solution after having consistent failures downloading Island Run or any Titan/City of Heroes:
I first created a NCSOFT folder: C:\programs, then right click on programs  and choose “new folder”.  Name it NCSOFT. Then right  click on NCSOFT and add “new folder” naming  it COH.
From now on all Titan/COH downloads, including Island Run, should be saved to the COH folder.
It took several times but I eventually downloaded Island run:
As soon as Island Run begins, left click the Palm tree in the upper left hand corner. A drop down menu will appear where you’ll see “options.” Choose all three options (see below.) Pin Island Run  to task bar, minimize, --> click the minus sign,  and allow the download to continue.
1.   Ready to play Ignore develop mode.
2.   Download optimal content.
3.   Use cider and ignore wine
I had to try Island Run 3 times before all 72 files were downloaded

My only question is where is Lady Winter?  I haven't been able to find her.

She's called Miss_December: http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,8963.msg151875.html#msg151875

Good to know, but I'm going to have to use the spawn command on that one because she's not anywhere in the menu yet.  Nor are any of Ouro's Menders (except Lazarus).  Or the new Siege, or the giant Tyrant, or Belladonna Vetrano.  In the works maybe?

Hi there.  I couldn't locate the NPC name for the Ice Controller pet, Jack Frost.  Can anyone reading this that knows this one help me find that?

Also, what I'm really looking for, is the texture name for Ice stuff, like found in Ice Tanks and such.

Thanks.

Answering my own question here.  I dug a little deeper, and, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems every single classic 'Ice' look is actually an animation, not a texture.  I stumbled through tons of NPCs looking for a good alternative when building a costume mash-up, and I finally stumbled upon: Max-sized (player-size) Crystal Beast geometry with the hammer arms of the Sneaky Freakshow, and the texture of the Ice Backpack on it.  It's slightly odd since it's all glow-pulsing, but the result is a glorious and awe-inspiring costume.  I'll be using that in Paragon Chat :)

Jack Frost's costume is 'jack', but you won't find anything useful there. Jack Frost, Animated Stone, Fire Imps, and a number of the other pets all have an empty costume. All of their geometry is created by their attached FX instead, so that it can be tinted / changed with power customization.

Every time I use this, my characters come out distorted and mostly invisible to people. Can you help me figure this out?
