Some odd choices in there - e.g. 5 slotted impervium armor (though i could see 4 for the + end), maneuvers but not the steadfast proc anywhere (i'd switch the former for cj), the 2 red fortunes in CoD & weave instead of 2 more lotg's for the regen/hp, 2 titanium instead of the other 2 steadfast for similar reasons in obsidian, the razzle proc. I fiddled with it a bit, mostly keeping your powers/slotting but adding some hp/regen/recovery. You should have a monster either way though.

Here's my Spines/Dark I retired with, planning to reroll as a Spines/FA when CoH comes back.  Attack chains was just Impale - Ripper - Throw Spines - repeat.  Never saw the changes to Lunge/Barb Swipe so not sure how it would have changed the build.

Nice..but upon further thinking on this toon's build/and my need for a 'farming toon' to generate influence and IOs at a decent rate, I have moved this toon up to be my first 50 upon return, and i'm not sure i'll be able to get all those ATIOs(HOs, sure, but ATIOs are less likely/). I might make this my 3rd build tho once im able to get a steady flow of inf and IOs going  ;D
Edit: my 2nd build will most likely be a PvP build. I'd like to see how dark is in PvP :D
50's: Necro/Dark, Fire x3 Dom, Plant/Savage Dom, Ice/Time Blaster, Arch/TA Blaster, SS/Elec Brute, Rad/Rad Def.

That strikes me as a very bad idea. Would be an endurance nightmare to play on SOs and that's assuming you can even afford SOs on your first toon. Spines/dark would lose a lot of its farming capabilities if you can't afford to run the toggles.

Hmm..I suppose farming seems abit of a strong term for what this toon is going to be.  ;D as far as enhancements, I plan on using generic IOs until I am able to IO her with actual sets. But yeah, i'm aware of the struggle i'm going to embark(those horrid end issues :/) but i'd still like to give it a try.(hopefully the new devs will be able to dull out inf upon return).

Once you get theft+end slotted you will be able to make do with the end usage. My spine/fire told me so. :-)

One of the sneaky great things in spines is the immob you have which allows for your aoes to hit more and more often.
Cogito, Ergo... eh?

The Theft of Essence proc usually just made Dark Regeneration an endurance free power to use (But still needed enough endurance to cast).  In a group of 10 enemies, with a 20% chance ToE procs on an average of 2 enemies giving the user about 20 end but DR has a base cost of 30 to cast.  It helped but was hardly an endurance solution to DA's end problems.  Try out the below to reduce your end woes.

-Start working on the Clubber or Dualist Badge asap,
-Slot for endurance reduction in toggles and attacks,
-Switch to DOs at level 12,
-Slot a Theft of Essence proc into Dark Regeneration as soon as you pick it,
-Slot a Miracle unique at level 17,
-4 slot Stamina and a Performance Shifter proc by level 18,
-Switch to SOs at level 22,
-Get the Atlas Medallion by level 25
-Slot a Numina unique at level 27,
-Take Conserve Power at level 35 and double slot it for recharge,
-Take Physical Perfection at level 41 and slot it with another PF proc.
-Get the Portal Jockey Accolade between levels 45-50.
-Pick Cardiac Alpha and/or Ageless Destiny during Incarnates, level 50+.

I also recommend:

-Switch to IOs when your build starts coming together,
-Don't use Cloak of Fear until you have your endurance under control,
-Toggle off travel powers and unnecessary toggles while fighting,
-AoE attacks use more endurance, only use them if hitting 3+ targets,
-Do not keep Hasten on auto, click it when you need it.

I'll definately look into these(I plan on already taking Ageless/Cardiac, as Cardiac offers the +Res component and Ageless, +Rech.)
50's: Necro/Dark, Fire x3 Dom, Plant/Savage Dom, Ice/Time Blaster, Arch/TA Blaster, SS/Elec Brute, Rad/Rad Def.

Not to make a thing out of this, but I did say that he'd be able to make do with end usage not that everything would be resolved. The difference in that single proc is usually very significant in the life of a /Dark scrapper. In my experience it changes things from frustrating to the beginnings of fun.

Sans CoF and Dark Regen., dark armor is not that much of an end hog. It's those combined with his aoe aura in spines that make the combo a real end hog. I might even suggest not taking CoF until an alt build at 50 but it is a fun power so I get it if Soul Resonance doesn't want to skip it first time through.

That being said, all the things you listed below are all very nice ways to augment the end usage.

In my past experience with dark, I've grabbed CoF and generally never toggled it(but slotted it) until I got a better grasp on end. I didn't really know about the Theft of Essence proc benefits until just now after hearing about how it was a life saver for /dark builds, had I known about it before shutdown, I'd have probably been able to run CoF more often. I plan to still grab it at the level its available, by that time I should have a ToE proc in dark regen to help offset some of the cost/allow me to run CoF on this toon. Also: Thank goodness for Cardiac at 50/Mortimor Kal TF(free notice of the well :3)

I got bored today so I thought I'd give you my 2 cent build to look over. I got ya lots more HP, End and End return with this one. I didn't take CoF, but there is room for it if you want. Just remove the useless confront (couldn't figure anything I wanted there). Might give you some ideas.

"Lots more HP" will not amount to a hill of beans since defense and damage resistance is so low.  In a standard farm, this build would be chewed up, spit out, mangled in 10 seconds flat.  Spring Attack's KD, Shadow Meld, Dark Regeneration will not recharge in time to save you from the beating you would take especially when Hasten-less for 50 seconds.  The only hope for this build in a farm is the combination of Oppressive Gloom and Cloak of Fear.  If an enemy isn't stunned, hopefully terrorized and vice versa.  CoF's -ToHit Debuff (-5% unenhanced base) would help a lot too.  Either that or a whole tray of purple inspiration to boost defense.

Absolutely disagree with you on it's survivability.

Shadow Meld is up to cover for alpha strikes. OG will take out the minions in melee range. Dark Regen is up every 12 seconds and heals for 70% with a single target. Spring attack also mitigates melee damage. This build does have an added advantage of being much more sustainable as far as end consumption is concerned. Even if you add back in CoF you can run with a recovery of 2.09 EPS (nothing to sneeze at). It also adds another additional AoE damage power (which many don't like due to it's activation time, but I do like it).

Not to mention I've never seen anyone farm without using every inspiration they can get their hands on (you can fill half a tray during a Shadow Meld uptime).

I will admit that looking it over I would probably put CoF back in as my build would be able to utilize it whenever wanted and it does provide an added layer of defense.

And yes, you do get some added resistances and Defense can be up constantly, but only at the cost of lots of endurance. Your farmer would be chomping blues left and right while mine is chomping purples.

When I posted this build, the "lots" referred mostly to the end control, but it did have some HP advantage. I should have made that more clear.

Finally, I was not making my build with everything that we could get our hands on when the game was live and we had billions of infl. to play with.

*snip*

The Spines/DA build I posted needed no inspiration to solo S/L farms, only reds if I wanted to do more damage.  Completely no need for green, blue, orange or purples inspira.  Sometimes at the end of a game session, if a SG teammate needed a few levels, we would hop in an AE, single room, ambush farm, +3x8 with bosses.  I park myself in center running 4 auras with Dark Regeneration on auto.  Watch a movie, go out for dinner or whatever, check back later and I have 1500 AE tickets, all minions dead and a "Thanks for the farm" message from the teammate.

I don't think that build would have a chance to farm anything higher than +1x8 with bosses on a normal mission.  Fighting one group at a time, resting in between each to make sure your mitigation powers and Hasten are recharged.  I guess farming doesn't have to be fast and efficient.

that's fine and more power to you. I never said mine was a farm build (fast or slow).
