For quick cash I usually just do the Tour The Galaxy daily.  I still haven't worked out the best route to take to hit every system in the Beta Quadrant, but I can usually get all but one on my Klingon, who has faster recharge on the Slipstream Drive, so I often get over 600k with him, and 400-500k on my Romulan.  I'll start doing it with the Vulcan when he gets to Level 50 and unlocks the Slipstream, but at level 30 it's just not worth it.

So I'm getting a decent amount of money in every day even when I don't managed to sell anything on the exchange, more than enough to afford Reputation Dailies and Hourlies.  And since the gear I get from filling in a Daily/Hourly Reputation is usually worse than what I have at this point, I tend to just sell it, which more than makes up for the cash I put into it.

I hope I can get back to STO soon.  Fortnite is kinda fun, but I feel all fumble-fingers when I play it (and you actually have to gain around 20 levels to unlock the character class I want to play as), so I'm going to head back to STO as soon as I can :D

I played a little last night, and I blew all my Zen on keys, and I'm now up to 45 million EC in the bank.  (I would have about 51 million, but I kept two of the keys and used them to open Infinity Lockboxes, which both gave me crap - just a Duty Officer and a 150 Fleet Credit Voucher, neither of which sell for anything significant on the Exchange, so I just used them.  That was a mistake I will not repeat.  I'm done with lockboxes.  I haven't even managed to sell the Trait I got from the first one yet, despite lowering the price to literally 40% of what the next-highest one on the Exchange is)

And, unfortunately, the Jem'Hadar Carrier has increased in price to 60 million, so I'm still quite a way away from being able to buy one.

Going to just keep grinding for Dil/Zen and selling those keys.

Yeah, this was my experience with them, too. Unless you can buy flowing amounts of them and don't mind any losses, they're probably going to make you unhappy.

Arc is... I like Arc about as much as lockbox keys.

If you want to get to STO directly try something like "X:\STO\Star Trek Online_en\Star Trek Online.exe"

X, being your drive letter the game is on and the rest are default directories and the executable. The idea is to access the client directly - bypassing ... Arc.

Can do the same thing for CO.

I would have done that but I deleted the entire games folder when I uninstalled arc. :(. Someone on the sto facebook page said to use steam. I am crossing my fingers in hope that this will work.

I just bought 220 PPP's... Why not a new Zen ship? Because I highly support Phoenix Prize Packs.

As a connoisseur of fine loots I think PPP's are nicely thought out loot. For example, I can always get something useful from them and they have the added excitement of maybe giving me an uber new T6. But the loot is bind to character! You may say. No... More genius.. Like Lobi, (I recently learned...) you can activate the PPP store with the *Account Tradable* tokens that the PPP's give. Meaning... Toons I haven't even rolled yet can get PPP loot at their leisure due to I can stuff tokens into my Account Bank and then any of my toons can grab the tokens, open up the Phoenix Prize Pack Store, and grab the loot they want. GENIUS! I can even open up all 220 Prize Packs right now to see if I get any T6's and my unborn toons still have access to PPP Store loot, whenever they want it. Even.. more... Genius.

It's a good lewt.

*nod*

argh, I failed my Ninja Edit roll! I was gonna say that these are like the opposite of Lockboxes but decided I'd kicked lockboxes enough lately.

The results are in...

I opened every PPP like a mini Christmas present, hoping every single Pack would have a T6 (Epic) token until, like, the last 30 something, when I thought, naaahhhh, not gonna happen. Then I got one.

Worth noting.. I opened 230 PPP's and got (1) Ultra Rare. TG opened... 3?

I opened... five or six, I think.

Next time I think I'll get more than the one-a-day that you get for free, because Phoenix Packs are a lot better than Lockboxes.  Even the worst prize is incredibly useful.

I finally have 50 million ECs! ... but T6 Jem'Hadar Carriers are back up to 65 million.   The lowest T6s are 59 million.

Keep on truckin', I guess....

50 million... Lawdy.

59 million... Lawdy!

Are we playing the same game? I distinctly remember sucking for EC's around the point you are at and most of my posts revolved around "I'm having a hard time figuring out which part of my ship is the front". I was on a tiny screen at the time, in my defense. Plus, when I was saving up for auction house T6's the *cheapest* ones were ~ 200 million. Then I saw how long it takes (me...) to come up with 200, 300...400+.. million and I've been a Zen ship man ever since. With a bonus PPP ship recently tossed in  : )

All I can say is that the prices on Console seem... very different.  (Also, since I'm getting 1 million EC a day easy just from Tour the Galaxy - and that will be 1.5 million a day once I get my third character to level 50 - it's not exceptionally difficult to have some money, just not the money I need)

... 200 million is still what I need for my Vonph. :(

I got the Jem'Hadar Carrier!  One popped up on the Exchange for 55 million, so I snagged it.  2 million left in the bank.

Now to start saving for the Vonph.... :D

Edit: Heh, you know, I like this ship's stats, but as far as appearance goes, it's one of the most generic-looking ships I've ever seen.  I kept having the nagging feeling I'd seen it before (and not in Star Trek), and then I got it.  It's from Galaga:

(That particular image of the Carrier doesn't really show it very well, but it's really noticeable with the default hull color and configuration)

I got the Jem'Hadar Carrier!

That got an lol..

Man, I beat you in getting a bind to character T6 by like 5 seconds.

Think I'm going to save mine for a Cruiser/Tac newb that's yet to be rolled up. That Ferengi Warship looks kinda tempting. Because it has "Ferengi" in it, mostly. I used holo images of a Ferengi ship before and liked flying around in that.

I might just save my ship token like The 40 Year Old Virgin did with his Oscar Goldman doll. Take it out of the bank every once in awhile and shine up the box.

There was news from the Las Vegas convention in Fleet chat, earlier. Something about a whole new quadrant.. faction.. Fleet holding (that's a planet) and that's just the little bit I got in on.

That's awesome.  Now that I have a T6 ship, I need something to use it in (other than replaying missions and doing PvE Queues), so I'm looking forward to new content. :D  I do still want the Vonph, but it'll have to wait.

I'm also looking into a slightly better ship for my Romulan.  I don't necessarily "need" a T6 for her yet, but I want a better T5, probably a T5-U, because the Ha'feh Warbird is pretty darn fragile, even for an Escort.  I have an APU for her, but I want her to have an Escort or Raider.  I should be able to grab one for under 10 million (under 5 million, even), but I'm trying to figure out which ships have the Heavy Weapon slot.  (If the Klingon is the Carrier Engineer, she's the Heavy Weapons Tactical Officer) Supposedly, all the ones I'm looking at - the Tholian Meshwaver, the Nihydron Destroyer, the Kazon Heavy Raider, and the Sphere Builder Arehbes Destroyer - have the slot, but I can't find direct confirmation of that.

If they all have it, then I have a choice to make.  The Nihydron Destroyer has the highest Hull Health (11,000 higher than the Ha'feh), but the lowest turn rate of the four.  The Kazon Raider has the best turn rate and Boff layout, with three Universal slots, one of which is a Lt Com, but only two aft weapon slots, the lowest Shield multiplier, and the lowest Hull (though still 5,000 higher than the Ha'feh).  The Sphere Builder has all-around decent stats but only one Engineering Console slot and no Tac Lt Com Boff slot (just a Tac Lt).  And the Meshweaver has the highest Shield multiplier (and my favorite design of the four), but it has fewer Boff slots than the other three ships and is tied for lowest Hull with the Kazon Raider.  (And I'm mostly writing this out so I can see the advantages and disadvantages for myself more than trying to explain them to you) :D  Decisions, decisions... I guess it'll also depend on what their prices are when I check the game again tomorrow.

One goal is reached, new goals emerge.

Now that I have a T6 ship, I need something to use it in

This is the point where I started looking more seriously at gear and at upgrading the gear I settled on. Still do this.

Then I moved to parsing Advanced Infected Space queueueue's. Still do this, too.

Mostly I'm now in Ferengi mode and since awhile now. Haven't fired a single weapon the past I dunno how many times I've logged in. This is what I was saying to STO critics, before - STO isn't all about Holy Trinity. It's about whatever you want it to be about, within the bounds of what's currently available in the game. Like a classic Space Game.

I want to play some CO this weekend but there is what seems to be a huge patch waiting for me, there. Just playing CO for variety and because of the players and because it's been fun the past few times I logged in. When I log into STO there is no shortage whatsoever of things to occupy my mouse clicks. I've had periods since I started playing where I was wondering what things to do next but .. I've found them. Now it's more a matter of, 'I really would like to get in at least one Space battle before I log'..

Yeah, I'm pretty much just gathering gear now - upgrading what I have, trying to track down unique pieces, mostly with an eye on survivability. Particularly for my Romulan glass cannon, who I'm trying to make a little less glassy and a little more cannon.  Romulan Tier 2 Reputation (+10% Shields) and Nukara Tier 2 Reputation (+10% Hull) both help with that, so I'm also working on that.

My Klingon has been in a good place survivability-wise ever since I picked up the Vo'quv, and it's only gotten better with subsequent ships, so I'm no longer worried about him. I'm just cleaning house with him now.  Incidentally, I've re-named my Jem'Hadar Carrier the IKS Gha'laqa.

My Vulcan is stuck.  He's up to the Nimbus III arc, but Nimbus III is broken on consoles right now (probably something similar to the Alpha Quadrant bug - the loading screen just hangs)  Edit: they're going to be fixing that this afternoon (well, afternoon where I am), so I'll be able to run through that arc tonight or tomorrow!

I can't  access STO atm  to verify  but I  believe  you can purchase the Obelisk  Carrier  from the ship requisition  officer in earth space dock, DS9  and the  shipyard for KDF. I think they cost 100-500 k dil.
Another  easy way to make EC is to sell doffs  on the exchange. There are a few doff missions that can reward you with additional  doffs which can be exchanged  for 3 doffs of a lower tier. 1 very rare doff an make 27 common doffs, rare doffs can make 9 common doffs  and 1 uncommon  doff can make 3 common. The common  doffs are used  for Fleet projects  and sell pretty  quick.
You can also do the Lore daily  on Star fleet Academy  or the Klingon Academy  for 480 dil which takes about 20 seconds  to do if you go to the STO GAMEPEDIA  website. Just Google  STO Gamepedia  Lore and  it'll  lead to the  correct page with all the answers for the daily  quiz. There's  also a lot of good information  there.
There is  also a ton of good videos  on YouTube. Timberwolf , Oden Knight,  Brent Justice have their  own channels  and also look up this video  STAR TREK ONLINE - EPS, THE SECRET  TO  DPS(it's by Sarcasm  Detector). It's a 35 minute  video but it will help  you  understand  how to get to 125+ in weapons  power  and how to keep  it  there. I know  the nerfs earlier  this year changed plasmonic  leech but it will help.
When you  buy a T6  from the C-store  the trait that  comes with  the ship has to be unlocked  through  leveling  in the Ship Mastery. A couple  of  Borg Red Alerts  will unlock the trait.
  I hope  that helps  you.
