Just as this Phoenix has returned, the Phoenix Prize Packs have returned http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10671264-the-phoenix-prize-pack-returns%21

Can you believe.... like 1 day earlier... I just bought 1k Zen....? Aaaaaargh! (The price of Zen, has, of course, plummeted since then).

I had a ton of Dil laying around, and prices were stable, and Phoenix packs had just been here recently.... sooooo... I decided I better buy some Zen while things were stable. And then *zingo* here come PPP's out of the blue...

It's hard to complain tooo much since I have 'plenty' (there's never enough..) of Dil and Zen laying around, and, an unused T6 token and a hundred or so Phoenix upgrade kits sitting in the bank from the last PPP's. But. I'm human, and therefore greedy and never satisfied, so, the situation did get an 'aaaargh' out of me.

One thing that I like about the Tzenkethi storyline and makes me glad to see more of it, is: They got a RL Klingon to do narrations.

.....

Looking forward to trying the new queue!

They did not have this guy back.. No way! The people they have doing VO in these 2 new queues are (wonderful, I'm sure, in many other things...) just flat and 2d compared to that guy (who's name I should take the time to look up).

Bring back the REAL Klingon for Tzenkethi queues! I'm spoiled already. He's the real deal.

I thought I'd read that the new queue is supposed to give a choice of Fleet and Lukari marks.

I've just started collecting Lukari marks, and ... I never want to do Gravity Kills ever again.  They give you a half-hour timer, and it took us half of it just to destroy the first station (at which point, I thought "Oh, finally, that took forever", before realizing there were still two more stations to destroy, and then a boss who literally took no damage at all for several minutes).  The timer had long since run out before we actually finished the mission.  My ship blew up more times in that one mission than it had in all the weeks since I got that particular character his T6 ship (possibly more times than that character's ship had blown up, period).  It was the most frustrating experience I've ever had with the game.

I quite like The Tzenkethi Front, the other Lukari Mark Space queue, though.  Hopefully the new one will be more like the latter than the former.

I still never run this, btw.. it's like you say. Murder.

You know what, though.. I bet there are people in the game that can beat that thing in a team of T5's (or lower..) with Blue gear (or lower..). Because they know what works well with what and how to implement their plan of destruction.

That's cool. I am actually inspired by people like this, not intimidated. There's people like this in every game I've really liked. People that ...know the game. And can play the game, very well. I wish I knew the player's name in CoH that got me to finally play a good melee toon to the (my) max. I mean, he just inspired me how he wiped out.....everything. A regen/claws Scrapper. When I saw people like that in EQ, they inspired me. They inspire me in CO - they inspire Nerfs, in CO, too - and at an agonizing trickle.

Anyway, your post made me think of this train of thought and this train of thought brings me to my latest attempt to be a good regen/claws scrapper..

I did not get the final piece in the set... But I still might. I opted for the Iconian Singularity and all of its goodies over the final Set power and not impressive Singularity in the Wargames set.. I say this because I don't know if there is a graphic for the full set, like there is for Iconian. There's a stylish arcane type paint-job for getting a full Iconian Set - which, I highly recommend if you ever considered it. It's a great set. So is the Wargames set.

Even though I was happy with the paint job this Pilot Warbird looked kinda plain, before, really.. Nice look now I think. All the blue lighting is Wargames graphics. The engine in back crackles with electricity and the deflector in the nose has a kinda disappointing Flashlight graphic that you are spared of, above.

It's a whole other ship! There are So many options when it comes to the overall build in STO. Gear and Powers and Traits and.. etc. I've been in Gear mode lately. And Build tweaking mode, in general. That reminds me.. TG should have no problem getting his Lukari marks and tokens once the new queue hits Console.. It's nonstop busy on PC. So, he should be getting his Lukari gear soon.. Lol everyone should be.. Due to that's where the new Colony tokens drop, too.. I get in a rotation with my toons and run it nonstop. Colony Tokens + Rep Tokens + Marks + Fast popping queues = I'm there. I just minutes ago heard someone in DPS 10,000 complain that there's nothing but dead queues in STO. Wrong. You just have to know what queues to hit if you're looking for ones that pop fast. Currently the new queue is very busy. As are several others..

OK so... just due to I was thinking about buying a bunch of PPP's... and then you brought this up.... I looked up what my results were, last time, and there they are below... TG's results don't count because he's a lucky rhymes-with-Kastard. I think I won't open less than.... 300 PPP's in the future.. 250 minimum.. That way, I shouuuuuuld get a T6 token. Hopefully. If not, I'll raise that minimum number for the next round..

The results are in...

I opened every PPP like a mini Christmas present, hoping every single Pack would have a T6 (Epic) token until, like, the last 30 something, when I thought, naaahhhh, not gonna happen. Then I got one.

Worth noting.. I opened 230 PPP's and got (1) Ultra Rare. TG opened... 3?

How did you get an UR and an Epic? I have opened over 200 and the best I got was VR quality :(

I opened over 200 before I got my epic, too. Was in my last 10-pack. Had I not bought that last 10-pack.....

You can never have too many PPP's, but... when you open that many it would be nice to get a T6. Sorry about your bad luck! That's why I never gamble with stuff that can wipe you out. At least with PPP's you always get something useful.

Now you make me want to save up for like 300 as a minimum.. If I don't get a T6 in 300 packs then I might rethink my strategy of saving up to buy big and just buy however many I have the dil laying around for whenever the packs roll around again.

The main thing to me is the Universal Upgrade Kits. But, yeah, why not try and get a T6 too while you're at it. That was the main reason I saved up last time and I almost didn't get one. I wouldn't have bought any more PPP's! Not after like 240.... Not after over 1,000,000 dil.. So that was pretty lucky to find one in the last 10-pack. Even though for SOME people it only takes like 6 singles to get an Epic..

Sorry Angel!

i got to thinking about it and... hey, you really never can have too many PPP's, so, in the last minutes I got a couple of 10-packs. No T6 (ha) but, not too shabby...

Still enjoying the new queue. Mostly nonstop pew-pew. It goes way better when I attack from behind instead of wading into the oncoming waves... It's surprising how well my escort/warbird pilots do in comparison to the normally way tankier Sci ship pilots. I'm kinda glad to be in a few different fleets at this time because they are all scraping for Colony components except the one I have the most toons in and it's nice to be able to pitch in components I enjoy collecting.

The thrill is gone.. After pitching in most all of the Provisions from the last 3 Colony Projects in one of my Fleets I dropped from a solid 2nd in the Leaderboard to a distant 3rd. All it took was someone adding the projects and then contributing most everything Except Provisions.

Provisions give way too tiny amount of reward for the effort.

Ah well.

It's still a decent queue to run.

So I see the news about the free shuttles returning:
https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10684324

And I think, oh yay, they realized that KDF toons can't claim it and have rectified the situation.

Nupe. It's the same promotion as before. As advertised.

KDF toons get shafted on T5 lockbox ships from the AE, too. Just look how many Fed ships there are to KDF.. I did, again, yesterday, when I was shopping for Admiralty ships for my Rom..

KDF is cool for theme and all that but if you have no real preference .... save yourself heartache.. roll a FED. And then go turn in some Contraband at your Starbase..

Anyway, that rambling isn't what I came for. This is about a whole other rambling. Toon Slots! How great is it that toon slots are less than 1/10th (closer to 1/15th - or even less if you factor in... factors) the price of what they are in CO?

I was just now staring at the option to buy 2 more slots and thinking... Do I really want to blow the 625 Zen on slots that aren't even on sale... And then I thought what it would cost me in CO and I had to chuckle and then make a nonsensical post.

Yes, Ships are their moneymaker. But still, I think that's cool that extra toon slots are so accessible. I think they cost about the same as buying extra BAG slots... now that I think of it. Then again, holy geez are bag slots expensive.

I shall carry this rambling forth, into Space. *pew-pew*

Carry on  : )

Yeah, the only Mirror ship I can find for KDF at even a semi-reasonable price is the Mirror Vo'Quv Carrier.  The Mirror K'tang, Somraw, Negh'Var, Vor'cha, and Qin are all 25 million or more - much more in the case of the 100 million EC Qin.  And they're all just basic T5 ships (not T5-Us).

(These are PS4 prices, incidentally.  I don't know what the PC market is)

I can't even use the Vo'Quv! On my Rom.. The only 2 T5 ships from the AE I can use on my Rom are the Malon Battlecruiser and the APO Cruiser.. The 2 cross-faction T5u's..

Superior Romulan Operative (Boff innate) is the only saving grace I can find for Roms. And their Singularity cores can be handy. And, I can name a toon T'hee and it's perfectly acceptable. Other than that.. Fed all the way.

It's like someone had this great idea to add Roms to the game and then ... dropped it.

I mean, I can't even claim the FREE shuttle with my Rom from the last promotion that ran twice already.. Cheesy..

Romulan ships aren't much better, with some Mirror Ha'pax warbirds at 600k, but most Rom Mirror ships are over a million. (I grabbed a few back when they were cheaper, but that was months ago.  And, again, PC prices are probably very different)

My Rom is currently using a T5-U Nihydron Destroyer, though I have my eye on a C-Store T6 for her.  (I'm just waiting until the next Phoenix Promotion, when the Dil-to-Zen ratio improves)

Only Fed Mirror ships are plentiful and relatively cheap (200-400k), though mostly only Patrol and Advanced Escorts.

Edit: Though I was able to claim the Type 7 Shuttle on my Rom.  Maybe you have to be Fed-aligned.

There are Rom T5's on the Exchange??

Well, duh.. Just because I'm KDF doesn't mean that I can use KLINK ships, now does it.. All I Was looking for was 'KDF' when I went Admiralty ship shopping. I didn't even see any Rom ships.. hmmm.. I'll have to look again.

BTW....

Those prices you quoted are all whack. I wouldn't pay more than... maybe 5 million EC for an Admiralty ship, or, a T5 that I want to fly as far as that goes.. T5's and T5u's (all 2 of them) are going for ~ 3 million or less on PC. A little more...., sometimes. For 600 million I'd be looking at T6's! Or nothing at all..

oi!

Anyone playing on XB1 having issues with starting the "In Shadows" Romulan arc? I'm above the minimum level, completed all the arcs leading up to it, and I don't have anything else that says I need to do something before starting it.
