Viewing interiors from birds eye view
« on: March 31, 2016, 01:03:52 PM »
Hello!

I know this is a very random question but I have a method to this random question!

I'm aiming to do a City of Heroes RPG tabletop and my players love the pictures of exterior maps (from birdseye/top down view) that I've been able to capture.

However, I always have a hard time with interior maps simply because if you noclip or use the detached camera that goes too far above the map, everything turns black except any loaded models such as doors, npcs, or your characters. I'm just wondering if anyone has found a way or knows of a way you can leave the map without things turning black.

Update: The only workaround I found was activating map edit mode but even then the map markers for spawn points, lighting, and music/sound are in the way. It's close but not going to really fly unless it only has lights.

It might be possible to hide the markers by replacing some textures with transparent ones. I haven't tried it so I don't know if it would work.
