A thought about the Joker
« on: April 16, 2017, 05:07:41 AM »
This probably has occurred to someone else at some time, and maybe it had even appeared in the comic books, in some form. But I was thinking about how we really don't know who the Joker's "civilian" identity is/was, and then, the oddball portion of my mind wondered if we, maybe, had been kind of saying his name all along: Joe Kerr (or a variant spelling of his surname). Kind of like the Penguin's going by the name P.N. Gwynn, on the '60s Batman series.

I believe that's been an alias for him, and possibly a given name for one of his many origin stories...
When you insult someone by calling them a "pig" or a "dog" you aren't maligning pigs and dogs everywhere.  The same is true of any term used as an insult.

Has been an alias. Hasn't been an origin name as of 2007 where I've read to.
