City of Heroes: Poetry
« on: May 24, 2018, 07:16:09 PM »
I have stood atop the world held-up by Atlas;
And danced behind his powerful stance.
I have waded through the sewers;
And battled those who lived there.

I have gotten lost in the forrest of Perez;
And I have found the bridge to nowhere.
I have studied at Steel Canyon U.
And ran flat-out on the skyways of Skyway City.

I have ventured forth into caves of gray and blue;
I have raided strange-looking offices and warehouses.
I have rode the green line and the yellow line;
I have watched the sunset on Stiga Isle.

I have helped noobs find a trainer.
I have sold unwanted junk.
I have given away thousands.
I have killed them all.

And now all I can do;
And now all anyone can do;
Though not by choice;
All we can do is talk about it.
I don't know when City of Heroes will return, or do I?

Zezticleese the Mercenary

(set to Wondrous Boat Ride - Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory)

Rounds expel and load again
That's the soldiers way
Blast 'em faster, scatter splatter!

There's no civvies need to knowing
Which targets we'll be blowing
There's no showing where we're going
Or which way the blood is flowing

Is it raining, is it pouring
The shrapnel's all a-blowing

Now the Crab legs are all glowing
So the danger must be growing
The dogs of war are all showing
Soon the Soldier will be crowing

Yes, your danger must be growing
For the reapers keep on mowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing

...

What, it's lunch time? Hell yeah I want tacos!...

I have chased the hockey puck
(by Paragon "Pantsless" Avenger)

I have chased the hockey puck
Sometimes with a lot of luck
Sometimes with no luck at all
Crawling along a zone wall
Or looking down from a roof
Stepping on it with my hoof

Is it over there or not
It is difficult to spot
In a tunnel I had it
Behind a billboard was it
Faultline had an Easter egg
Through the donut scrap'd my leg

On the volcano top there
It had been seen in Blyde Square
Caught the robbers of the banks
And got one as a small thanks

Galaxy Girl gave me one
Her partner did that was fun
There's a Smokey one in Kings
And high wire act tower brings
Lots of them thanks to our hosts
even got one killing ghosts.

I don't know when City of Heroes will return, or do I?

Was I
(by Paragon "Pantless" Avenger)

A Task Force Commanded was I
finished all 7 of the 6 freedom phalanx tasks.
Earned the Atlas Medallion I did
performing all the requirements was I
Riding the portal like a jockey was I
They held me in reserve for special things
The Freedom Phalanx Reserve Member was I
Ten Times The Victor was I
Spanked Mary MacComber ten times
I don't know when City of Heroes will return, or do I?

I’d like to take you now on wings of song, as it were, and try and help you forget perhaps for a while your drab, wretched lives.

Spring is here, a-suh-puh-ring is here.
Life is skittles and life is beer.
I think the loveliest time of the year is the spring.
I do, don’t you? ’course you do.
But there’s one thing that makes spring complete for me,
And makes ev’ry sunday a treat for me.

All the world seems in tune
On a spring afternoon,
When we’re punching Hellions in Perez Park.
Ev’ry sunday you’ll see
My sweetheart and me,
As we punch the  Hellions in Perez Park.

When they see us coming, the Hellions all try an’ hide,
But they still go get knocked back like an E-Ticket Ride.
The sun’s shining bright,
Ev’rything seems all right,
When we’re punching Hellions in Perez Park.

Lalaalaalalaladoodiedieedoodoodoo

We’ve gained notoriety,
And caused much anxiety
In the Hero society
With our games.
They call it impiety,
And lack of propriety,
And quite a variety
Of unpleasant names.
But it’s not against any religion
To want to dispose of a Hellion.

So if Sunday you’re free,
Why don’t you come with me,
And we’ll punch the Hellions in Perez Park.
And maybe we’ll do
In a Skull or two,
While we’re punching Hellions in Perez Park.

We’ll murder arrest them all amid laughter and merriment.
Except for the few we take home to experiment.
My pulse will be quickenin’
With each drop kicking
We deal to a Hellion.
A 'troller would be helping!
To punch the Hellions in Perez Park!

(With apologies to Tom Lehrer)

It was posted to the wrong thread or topic or something IMHO.

Here's some poetry for you:

Roses are red;
Violets are blue;
I miss City of Heroes,
And so do you.

City of Heroes:
Can we ever play again?
Let's keep hope alive.

There once was a man from Talos
Who had a heroic ethos
He did fight crime
Cleaned the town of grime
Now he drinks diet coke and eats Mentos.
I don't know when City of Heroes will return, or do I?

It doesn't rhyme, but just poetic the way it just happened over the months; players come & go.

Five SG Leaders at the top.  One of each AT:
A Ruby,
Fire,
Wind,
Light, and
The Cat!

One of each AT,
Scrapper,
Controller,
Defender,
Blaster,
Tank.

Respectively,
Ruby Kick,
Libbyator,
Wind Wench,
High Beam, and
Tiger Tank.
(The Babes of War  Freedom server.)  Ironically the five were RARELY on at the same time as one team.
What is a Dominator?
  Much like a spider traps a bug, wraps it up, then starts chewing on it when it's completely unable to escape or defend itself.

To paraphrase a popular song -- and now I can't hear the original without belting this out instead...

Take me down to Paragon City
Where the Heroes are buff and the Heroines witty!
Take me home (oh won't you please take me home)

Take me down to Paragon City
Where the Villains are vile and the streets are gritty!
Take me home (oh won't you please take me home)

Sinistar's "tagline"

In fearful COH-less days
In Raging COH-less nights
With Strong Hearts Full, we shall UNITE!
When all seems lost in the effort to bring CoH back to life,
Look to Cyberspace, where HOPE burns bright!
I don't know when City of Heroes will return, or do I?
