I thought it started getting good with the Jason episode. Has been hit or miss since but at least I was looking forward to the finale.
Spoiler for Hidden:
Though not necessarily looking forward to next season after that post-credits sequence.

I wanted to punch Jason in the face for that entire episode.

Awww... but Krypto's giving us puppy dog eyes!

The finale was pretty much what I thought it would be, except I thought the whole team was going to be captured and screwed by Trigon. I think there was way too much Dick in this episode and not enough everyone else.

I know, they completely nailed him. But I'd suggest a crowbar so you don't hurt your hands.

Spoiler for Hidden:
BTW the Trigon eyes on Growly were a nice touch.

Any ties to the Arrowverse or just another Earth in the Manyverse?

I wonder if any of these other shows will feature in the upcoming Crisis in the Arrowverse. I would imagine even though they haven't had any crossovers or connections yet, shows like Titans and Black Lightning are probably part of the overall multiverse, just as the movies probably are.

I love how even in Dick Grayson's perfect world where he is married to Dawn..he is still a Dick to her and is almost divorced.

Well Dick will always be a Dick - I always wondered how a name like Dick didn't have any problems in the 40's in a kid's comic book.

Though we did have Dick Tracy.

Heck, the popular children's learning book series with Tom, Dick and Harry.

Back in the 40s, the name was pretty much at its all-time height in popularity (and not just as a nickname).

I guess back then Dick wasn't associated immediately with you know what as it is now.

Just how back in the day 'gay' meant something different.

Yeah, although the derogatory reference dates back to the late 19th century, it wasn't as pronounced as it today. Plus, there were lots of awesome Dicks to block the bad references.  I think all hope for the name died with Dick Clark... but at least we still have Dick Van Dyke.

Season 3 is happening!

Except for the treatment of Dick, and just about everything about Jason and Hank, I've been enjoying this season a lot.

Comic book gorenography in the new shows deserves its own topic.

I really have no idea at all what audience they are playing to. It's not a comic book audience - not unless the comic book audience has *vastly* changed, since... ever. I mean grit is one thing. And comic books can destroy whole worlds...dimensions.. and do it across time. But it's never been about each bucket of blood and all the details that goes into filling it.

I mean, I'm no prude. I used to sneak into the goriest horror movies of the time when I was too young to get in 'legal' and I had my the gorier the better period, but, I never sought my gore from a comic book movie. I don't get it.

I'm no fan of irony but I imagine my superheroes being against the glorification of... gore. Once a person starts slowly getting dismembered in front of you, in detail, and similar, episode to episode, the subject no longer has anything to do with superheroes or mainstream comics. Which is why I have to ask who they are playing to.

I mean it's not just 'ewww' it's so bad that it ruins perfectly acceptable shows about the genre we all luv to the point I can't watch them and have to ask what the point of what they are doing is.

When the gore becomes more shocking than the heroes then it's no longer about the heroes its about the gore and that's not what most comics are about. They're about the wild and far out - the super. There's nothing super about gore. Just about anyone can produce it if they really want to. It's very non-super and doesn't require you to get bit by a radioactive spider or come from another planet.

A lot of kids read comics, too, ya know. As a very young kid I can't imagine wanting to watch what we are talking about here and I can't imagine why people would want to show it to me.

They're trying to appeal to a broad audience, maybe? People who want lighthearted comic stuff can watch flash and legends. But if you look at DC's history what are the best thought of books they've done? Watchmen and Dark Knight Returns. Those are both rather violent. I don't find Titans to be particularly good but it's not the violence that bothers me. I would say though that if you find the violence in Titans objectionable you should probably avoid The Boys, which is a much better show.

It's not about wanting flowers and sunshine in my comics it's about the gore being on a level that I can't watch. I realize it's partly me due to I don't like to watch horror anymore, but, it was never a requirement to have a strong stomach to watch comic book TV shows, ever, in my life, until now.

It's about not glorifying the very thing that comic books are against - extreme injustice and the dark side.

Grit is one thing. Shock and awe is another. Comics shock and awe for me has always come from the realm of the far out and creative imagination. Seeing someone's head getting slammed into a car door (on what I am assuming to be commercial TV that anyone can watch) repeatedly until it falls apart in a bloody mess is pointless to me and not a comic book experience I want to share with the newcomers to comics, the kids.

They're trying to appeal to a broad audience, maybe?

But what audience? I'm as avid of a comic book fan as anyone in my own way and I have to turn these shows off due to they insult the memory of my comics, well, and, I don't want to support what they are doing by watching, and, it completely turns me off. You can't slowly gorenagraphically dismemeber someone in front of me and then come back to flute music and butterflies and try and fill me with feelgood.

It feels weird being the one with his nose in the air on this. I mean, I was less.. pure than a lot of kids when I first read comics. I saw the Exorcist when I was like 10. I'm no saint or prude. But man, this stuff with the over the top gore in a comic book show just doesn't fit, to me. It's on commercial TV (Iron Fist, Daredevil.. whatever else I missed) that lil kids can watch, too, huh? I mean, I know all of us sophisticated adults are cleared to watch gorenography but I guess kids are now too.

I'm definitely not mainstream so what would I know. I'm truly confused that what we are talking about is seen as perfectly acceptable to the average actual comic book fan. It's a square peg in a round hole to me. It's not like I'm on a campaign to end gorenography I just don't get why it's in our comic book shows, in such excruciating detail, and why we're introducing some of today's kids to comics this way. It's like horror in tights. Kinda like watching porn in tights. I mean, where they're all dressed up like superheroes but the subject isn't superheroing, it's porn.

It's not commercial TV, it's streaming services which presumably if parents don't want their kids watching things they can not tell them the password.

But again, i'm just way more desensitized to violence evidently. I don't even notice gore in titans. Not even really sure what episodes you're talking about tbh, must've been s1 stuff that didn't even make enough of an impression for me to recall.
