City of Heroes Memorabilia
« on: April 29, 2019, 01:08:54 AM »
I have a fair collection of City of Heroes memorabilia that I collected while working at Paragon Studio and I am interested in selling some of the extra items that I have on eBay.  Would it be acceptable to post links to items that I am selling here?  Are there other places that City of Heroes players would look if they are interested in items from the game?

Thanks so much and it is so exciting to see so much interest in the game even after so long!

I'd say former members of Paragon Studios are about as official a source of City of Heroes swag as it gets, so I'll allow it.

There are pictures of me in various threads around here wearing my mod hat.

But we're off topic here.  Go!  Hunt!  Bid on merch!

Today's item is somewhat unique.  A Paragon Studios Original iPad 1 Silicone Rubber Cover

These covers were originally given to members of the Paragon Studios team and were not available to the general public.  This rubber cover for the original iPad 1 has the Paragon Studio Star logo on the back side in white on a black back ground.   The logo is made from embedded white rubber and is not a sticker or printed on.  The soft cover protects the back and sides of the device but does not cover the front screen.  This item is still in the original plastic wrapping and has never been used.

Two more items up for sale today:

A set of four City of Heroes Bumper Stickers originally printed to advertise the game City of Heroes at various conventions.  These items are from before the split of Cryptic Studios and NCSoft and the formation of Paragon Studios and before the release of City of Villains.  This set contains four different slogans as well as the CityOfHeroes.com url and the logos for both Cryptic Studios and NCSoft.

Paragon Studios City of Heroes License Plate Frame metal frame with custom Paragon Studios and City of Heroes / City of Villains heavy plastic stickers customizing this item.  The frame is still in the original plastic bag that it came in, although the bag is open at one end.   The stickers appear to still be strongly adhered to the metal, but in some places the edges of the stickers are lifting off of the metal backing.

New item for today:

A rare collector's item, the City of Villains 8oz Zippo Hip Flask is a solid metal hip flask customized with the Arachnos spider logo and the name City of Villains etched into the surface.  These flasks were originally released as promotional items at the City of Villains press launch event on Alcatraz island in San Francisco bay.  The press kits from that event each contained one of these items, so they were never sold as official items, but were available to members of the media who attended the launch party.

Two new items for sale today:

NCSoft 2006 Calender and Notebook

NCSoft 2006 Calendar and Notebook has a black plastic cover with transparent silhouettes of various NCSoft characters from many of their hit games. Inside, the first section are several sets of calendars including a year calendar, a month by month calendar and a week by week calendar. Although it is marked for 2006, the week by week calendar is not 2006 specific and could be used for any calendar year. The next section contains about 30 pages of gridded graph paper. The final section contains over 100 pages of alternating 15 page sections of blank white or green pages.

These calendars were originally given to employees and prospective candidates at NCSoft studios for 2006.

City of Villains Black and Maroon Short Arachnos Cape

City of Villains Black and Maroon Short Arachnos Cape is made from 100% polyester and dyed black with a maroon Arachnos symbol on the back. Its size is intended to be comparable to the short cape length found in-game.

The Arachnos cape was available to players through conventions and a few contests. Some advertisement kits given out to promote the upcoming release of City of Villains contained the cape, as well. The kits were given mostly to press and certain stores, but players were able to sign up on the marketing company's web site in limited quantities to receive the promotional kits in an attempt to promote viral advertising for the game.

City of Heroes and City of Villains Time Cards

Two time cards for the now retired City of Heroes and City of Villains games.  The images on these cards feature Hero One on the City of Heroes card and Ghost Widow on the City of Villains card.  These time cards can no longer be used for game time, but remain collectible reminders of the game's long time run.  These two cards are still sealed in their original boxes.  The City of Villains box is slightly bent at the bottom, but in generally good condition.

I bought this when it came out and still have it.

Its a great book to have to remember the early game before all the changes and even Icon. Half the zones were not in the game yet, powersets had some quite different powers and level order of getting them.

Great nostalgia.
