I saw that discussion last week, and after I saw the talk page, I did look at the Atlas Medallion page, and noted the difference. However, I found several other villain badges that have both hero and villain lists, and several hero badges that do not. In fact, it seems to me that there is, generally, a lot to be desired in terms of badges that change name or are awarded depending on alignment and things like that.
It's odd that the badge pages with both hero and villain ways have a list of ways to get it for each alignment, and then also say "OR earn the alternate equivalent." I don't remember well enough if that's how it worked on live. But if you look at the Marshal badge (
https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Marshal_Badge) you can see that in the hero list, it tells heroes to earn the "The Next Big Thing" badge, which is in Mercy, and therefore unobtainable by heroes - but theoretically obtainable by vigilantes (I think?).
So it seems to me that ideally, a thorough revamp of these types of badges would be the best way to go. I don't want to do that, but if I did, I would reexamine every badge that switched names or was obtainable in different ways for heroes and villains (starting with:
https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Gaining_Villain_Badges_with_Effects and
https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Gaining_Hero_Badges_with_Effects) and double check the methods used to obtain them, and provide lists for *
all four* alignments to achieve these badges. I suspect that for some badges, that would mean the lists become something like: "heroes: gain hero badge X and switch alignments to villain; villains, rogues, and vigilantes, do these tasks." But I don't know if that's how it would work.
