Ninja Run

A minor suggestion (that you may well have already thought of). It would be nice if the next build of Mid's could incorporate the Ninja Run power. I'll admit it wouldn't be used much but I'd imagine a few people would use it either to check their total speed with it (if they were planning to use it as a travel power) or net endurance usage (if they want to run while it in combat).

Usually it's not my place (or anyone's really) to tell someone HOW to build their characters... however, this is one of those things that just ends up being trivial at best if added... and is almost entirely unnecessary.

If we add this, we might as well add cyborg's self-destruct, or the prestige runs, etc... in short, most likely not going to happen.

My advice use the in-game numbers system to calibrate it's usefulness (if any). It won't hurt you to pick up the power since it's registered as a prestige power (permanent temp power, lol) and given to you upon purchasing the booster (and most likely will become another Veteran Reward when they run out of ideas).

However, Mids' is a user-refined application. If there is enough interest, we can negotiate as resolution.
My compromise: Get 25+ users to reply to this thread saying they want it and St0n3y and I will add it.

Nicster brought up some valid points in private. We're going to add it.

Cool!

I've already started a new villain that has no need for a travel power other than Ninja Run. He is, of course, a ninja.

Slower than any existing travel power on its own, jumps higher than unslotted Combat Jumping, when combined with Hurdle it's faster jumping then unslotted SJ, when combined with Swift and Sprint it's (a tiny bit) faster running than unslotted Fly.

So it's completely viable as a travel since we have all the ridiculous shortcuts in the game now.

Without having looked at the actual numbers the other night, I was quite surprised when I pulled Ninja Run into the tray on a character with only Swift and Hurdle (and Sprint) and accidentally jumped over the Midnighter building at the university.

I've got enough characters without travel powers that Ninja Run alone made it worth buying the pack for me.

But the costume pieces are pretty cool if that matters to you, too.

(And it works out very nicely if you have slot a +Stealth IO slotted in Sprint.)

Well, I'm glad to hear you're putting it in. Although to be honest, I think you would've been justified in your initial response of it's not worth the effort given only a small portion of the user base will actually use it :)

I actually remembered to check this while I'm logged in.  Miracles can happen!

Like most travel powers, the buffs scale up with level.

Activation: 0.00s
Recharge: 0.00s
End: 0.46/s
Available Level: 4

@50
Run Speed: 140.00%
Jump Speed: 136.95%
Jump Height: 695.00%

@40
Run Speed: 131.98%
Jump Speed: 131.45%
Jump Height: 645.00%

@30
Run Speed: 123.78%
Jump Speed: 125.95%
Jump Height: 595.00%

@20
Run Speed: 115.58%
Jump Speed: 120.45%
Jump Height: 545.00%

@10
Run Speed: 107.38%
Jump Speed: 114.95%
Jump Height: 495.00%

@4
Run Speed: 102.46%
Jump Speed: 111.65%
Jump Height: 465.00%

Edit:  Those numbers are PvE.  I just thought to check PvP.  HUGE difference

@50
Run Speed: 140.00%
Jump Speed: 249.00%
Jump Height: 2780.00%

@40
Run Speed: 131.98%
Jump Speed: 239.00%
Jump Height: 2580.00%

@30
Run Speed: 123.78%
Jump Speed: 229.00%
Jump Height: 2380.00%

@20
Run Speed: 115.58%
Jump Speed: 219.00%
Jump Height: 2180.00%

@10
Run Speed: 107.38%
Jump Speed: 209.00%
Jump Height: 1980.00%

@4
Run Speed: 102.46%
Jump Speed: 203.00%
Jump Height: 1860.00%

Edit 2:  Those jump height and jump speed buffs for PvP match the buffs from Super Jump.  I wonder if that's actually correct of if there's a bug in the in-game Detailed Info for Ninja Run.

Edit 3:  Aww.  Castle beat me to it by three days.
