The site isn't at risk because it's privately owned and operated, we're not a company... just a group of enthusiastic players who love the game and the people who enjoy it as well (for the most part at least, lol).
I've researched the <bleepin> <bleep> out of this. And because we are a fan site of the City of Heroes game, users of our sites and services are subject to the NCSoft EULA (as well as our unpublished Rules of Conduct, which will be released in the next few days).
Because of this, if a parent lets their child younger than their EULA agreements stands at on our site, without filing a COPPA form and emailing it to us it has officially become their responsibility as they gave the child permission to use "the google" lol.
If a child sees a swear word or naked picture from a user... (obviously in most cases the child wont care, but the parent with the wondering eyes will...) the worst that the parent could possibly do is report the indecent and have the content stricken from the site, which is fine because we do it ourselves! lol
Thanks for lookin' out, I understand your worry about this subject and as a happy-medium I will add a tick-box to our registration form stipulating that starting an account on the Titan Network, you agree and comply that we take no responsibility to what our users might post, and should take that into account when traversing the site.
