a rare shot
« on: December 03, 2012, 10:13:02 AM »
This only happened once, and I grabbed a screenie . Inside the tram.

Listen to the 'mustn'ts'. Listen to the 'don'ts'. Listen to the 'shouldn'ts', the 'impossibles', the 'won'ts'. Listen to the 'you'll never haves', then listen close to me... Anything can happen . Anything can be.

I tried to do that for years and never managed it. Kudos!

Well done! I managed that once YEARS ago, but didn't have the wherewithal to get a screenie.

Excellent catch there!  :o
As long as somebody keeps making up stories for it, the City isn't gone.

Way cool, Healix!  I'm glad you have a screenshot of that.  I had that happen exactly once to one of my characters and LOL it was a surprise, as in, What Happened?  More often than not the animations worked just fine, but I do recall plenty of occasions when I'd watch my character walk thru closed doors when boarding the train.  Those characters must have had more super powers than I'd realized!   ;)

Say! *IDEA*  (/em lightbulb)

You know what? I bet if you've got a demo-record of Atlas Park, that you could - with the de-coupled camera setting, get a screen rather like this. It would be of an empty train, but you could get all the same details.

Oh! (/em lightbulb)

Has anyone ever checked to see if the trains that are moving along the tracks are the same ones in the station?

In other words, if you place a camera POV along a track as one passes and the train passes through the POV, would you see the same interior detail that you see in the station as seen in the above shot?

I just tried that, and no. The moving trains have no interiors.

Also, here are the shots I took :)

Nice!

And it makes sense the moving trains wouldn't have the interior. Less unnecessary drawing for the server/client to do.

But... the trains move in and out of the station... well, most of them do...

I'm so confused... why would they do that silliness?!

Silly micromanagement of polygons ya ask me... :p

I get an error when trying to see the image, on Chrome and Firefox.

Looks like imgur has deleted it.
We were heroes. We were villains. At the end of the world we all fought as one. It's what we did that defines us.
The end occurred pretty much as we predicted: all servers redlining until midnight... and then no servers to go around.

Somewhere beyond time and space, if you look hard you might find a flash of silver trailing crimson: a lone lost Spartan on his way home.
