Sharing Our Freeform Builds
« on: January 25, 2013, 01:16:39 PM »
Seeing that last topic, it might help if we had a thread for sharing builds.  Here's my current favorite, a Claws / Fire scrapper:

PowerHouse http://powerhouse.nullware.com/

Mastery: Dexterity Mastery (1/1)

As a leveling build, it'll be a little tough as you're squsishy and AoE-less 'til 14. And still pretty squishy afterwards. Once you get your Armadillo (hoorb) set and make the high 30s, though, then it really starts to shine. Ferret's easily the most fun build I have going right now.

For AoE spawn clearing, you have Flashfire and Conflagaration. It won't chew through spawns incredibly flast, but its effective. Its against single targets where you really shine: Flashfire to set the floor on fire, then cycle between a full charge of Dragon's Claws and a full combo of Viper's Fangs while popping Flashfire whenever its up. You're putting up big numbers while debuffing resistance and speed so you'll be credit to team too! Your energy bar will almost always be full, which is really nice considering you're riding dodge and avoidance so you'll be feeling roughly every other big hit. So you'll be riding Bountiful Chi Resurgence a lot. Pop it before you hit Masterful Dodge and its a beautiful sight to behold.

Recommended Gear:
Heroic Breastplate of Agility + Gambler's Lucky Gem R5 and up
Heroic Gauntlets of +Crit Strike + Gambler's Lucky Gem R5 and up
Heroic Helmet of Speed + Impact Prism R5 and up
Tenatively, I'm going with three R5+ Dex mods, a R5+ Con mod, a R5+ Rec mod, and an R5 str mod.
Armadillo (hoorb) Secondary Set, you'll really really want that 25% resistance.

PowerHouse (Link to this build)

Name:

Archetype: Freeform

Super Stats:
Level 6: Strength (Primary)
Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
Level 15: Recovery (Secondary)

Talents:
Level 1: The Behemoth
Level 6: Relentless
Level 9: Physical Conditioning
Level 12: Jack of All Trades
Level 15: Quick Recovery
Level 18: Bodybuilder
Level 21: Boundless Reserves

Powers:
Level 1: Clobber
Level 1: Roomsweeper (Concussive Blow)
Level 6: Mighty Leap (Crippling Challenge, Nailed to the Ground)
Level 8: Retaliation (Rank 2)
Level 11: Way of the Warrior (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 14: Enrage (Endorphin Rush)
Level 17: Evasive Maneuvers (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 20: Bountiful Chi Resurgence (Resurgent Reiki)
Level 23: Thunderclap (Challenging Strikes)
Level 26: Haymaker (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 29: Demolish (Below the Belt)
Level 32: Aggressor
Level 35: Unleashed Rage (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 38: Masterful Dodge (Unfettered Strikes)

Travel Powers:
Level 6: Acrobatics (Versatility)
Level 35: Swinging

Specializations:
Strength: Swole (3/3)
Strength: Quick Recovery (2/2)
Strength: Brutality (2/2)
Strength: Overpower (3/3)
Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
Vindicator: Modified Gear (2/2)
Sentry: Fortified Gear (3/3)
Sentry: Twist Fate (2/2)
Sentry: Precise (3/3)
Sentry: Reinforce (2/2)
The mastery at the end I chose is Sentry Mastery.

With this build you damage output combined with evasive+lunge cycling and BCR will let you tank encounters in balanced role, and Thunderclap+Roomsweeper will generate enrage while sticking things in place and under control. Retaliation will reward you for blocking with increased damage on next hit.

Switching to offensive role will make you more than capable at single target damage, and your AOE damage will be decent as well. Unleashed rage should one-shot most things around you, and the knockdown will refresh enraged. Your aggressor will serve to increase your strength for a short while, interacting with swole and overpower, and granting a small amount of severity because of brutality.

Recommended gear:

Heroic Breastplate of Agility + Gambler's Lucky Gem
Heroic Gauntlets +Gambler's Lucky Gem
No specific recommendation for Utility + Impact Prism (You want your aggressor to reach 40 seconds recharge. More cooldown reduction means BCR and evasive maneuvers overlaps on itself longer.)

Notes:
Evasive maneuvers lets you escape ice blocks and cages. BCR and evasive maneuvers overlap to a second stack of their own effects with enough cooldown reduction.
