Actually, this is a bad idea. Sea has put a lockdown on anyone YouTubing various properties that they have. Basically, Samuraiko, Jayboh, myself, and a few others, wouldn't be able to put up content without them lifting this silliness. Totalbiscuit, who was until recently, a staunch supporter of Sega (even getting early beta test coverage from them in the past) hasn't been able to get one word out of them about it either. I would view Sega as a last pitch effort.

I'd be greatful for anyone to pick up the IP...

But Sega? Meh...I'd be OK with it, I just generally don't like them.

Unless Sonic the hedgehog is involved. That guy can do anything!

Sega?

When it comes to MMOs, they're more incompetent than NCSoft.

Sega comes under the heading of "OK we are hitting the bottom of the barrel."  Remember, what we want is someone who is going to continue to develop the game, with at least a studio of 13 (we know it can be done, that was the bottom level that Paragon operated at and continued to put out updates).  We don't really want CoH I23 forever, do we we?
I will go down with this ship.  I won't put my hands up in surrender.  There will be no white flag above my door.  I'm in love, and always will be.  Dido

I like the idea, but I don't know about Sega's financial state.

Already posted it in the "official Save CoH theme" thread, but we'd definitely need Segata Sanshiro to go pay a visit to NCSoft, to "question them deeply in their hearts" :-)

I'm still trying to write new lyrics for City of Heroes, from time to time.
Yeeessss....

Um... I'd kinda be ok with that, given the alternative.  Still plenty of arcs not done, powersets not played...

But yeah, moar would be betters.

While I agree that something, anything would be better than the listless nothing we currently have, I'm with VV on where Sega's position in the barrel is.
I wouldn't use the word "replace," but there's no word for "take over for you and make everything better almost immediately," so we just say "replace."

If we want continued development Sonic Team would be the specific people we'd want, not just Sega.

They make fine quality product that remains relevant to the times while providing cutting edge graphics, gameplay, and characters that are loved world round.

I thought Sega got swallowed up by Nintendo?

sorta, it's a partnership, and a long story.

sega makes systems.

sega's systems are released too early with too poor graphics for the age, segas powerful system is released too late to contend with nintendo64, no third party developers will switch to support sega..

Playstation is a hit, segas last system trumped before it can be released.

Sega wollows in shame and defeat

sega becomes 3rd party company to try and earn some losses back

Nintendo takes sega's hand and the rivals make a pact

sega is a subcompany of nintendo, just like Retro Studios, Intelligent systems and many others. although it's own separate company it has signed a deal with nintendo to release most of it's games as exclusives to the nintendo systems in return for funding.

sega is still poor, not only poor but not feeling too strong or powerful right now.

Sega cannot and will not take a chance negotiating with NCSoft.
There is always another way. But it might not work exactly like you may desire.

A wise old rabbit once told me "Never give-up!, Trust your instincts!" granted the advice at the time led me on a tripped-out voyage out of an asteroid belt, but hey it was more impressive than a bunch of rocks and space monkies.
