Seems like as good a spot as any for these Screens...
« on: February 25, 2013, 07:13:04 AM »
So, I have a lot of screenshots...
I mean a LOT of screenshots.

My response to The Announcement was to embark on a screen-taking project the likes of which the digital gods had never seen, and some 40,000-odd images later, I'd managed to document a big portion of the game world. Over the last couple of months, I've been sorting, resizing and posting some favorites from that archive for the members of another forum. I figured it was about time I did the same thing over here. I'll be posting a new batch every day or two until this thread catches up to the original.

I'd love it if you guys joined in with your favorites, too.
Locations, events, characters... It's all good. In sharing we remember, and that's a Good Thing.  8)

---------------------

Kestrel and Prince... Pruning the Roses.   8)

Palrah says, "I've got this."

I miss Saint Martial. :(

Anigan didn't always fight fair...

The Shard, out Crimson way

Principle SMASH!

The Liberty "usual suspects"...

Not exactly the bridges of Madison county.

Ouph is as Ouph does. In technocolor.

Im-
'Meet you at the Crossroads again.
   -K

Someday Kes was going to leave that note for her boss. She always felt like she owed Scirocco a rematch.
She'd cheated the first time, after all... She'd brought along a Brute. XD

The Crossroads was my favorite mission map in the game.

One of my few non-birdthings. His name was Raksha, and that's exactly what he was. (Its a reference only Exalted players will get. XD)

I always loved how intricate Nemesis' steamtech was. He really did have a sense of style.

I miss all of my crew... but I miss my crazy Death Mage more than most.

Today's batch...

Aken the Peacebringer... I'll always be a little sad that I didn't have time to finish him. :(

Dramatic stalker is dramatic.

Lots of Ouphs

Caora and Nemissary... I feel a little sorry for whatever they were aiming at.

An older screen than many of these, but still probably my favorite of the entire lot. Whisper and Savage, daring First Ward to "Bring it".

Catching up...

Aeon City, Cap au Diable

Until I took this cap, I had no CLUE Rikti Heavies were so... happy.

Arachnoids... The creeps we loved to hate. Their caves were cool, though.

Banners, from the villain-side base in Bloody Bay. Humorously, I took this cap on a hero-side stalker who liked to live dangerously.

Ashirion, my favorite scrap, was always happiest when buried in a giant pile of dead demons.

Atlas was a rather thoughtful-looking fellow.

New Atlas Park

Bloody Bay

Boomtown

Cap au Diable

First Ward

Chasing a Drop Ship

The Churchyard (First Ward)

This may take awhile...  ;D

Hello, Mister Seed.

Coolest.Building.In.The.Isles.

Even industrial waste can be pretty. (Crey's Folly)

Another of my "bird-things"... Asa'davi guards the Chantry

Don't look away. Don't even blink. O_O

Gargoyle (Cap au Diable)

Random greenery (First Ward)

Gummy monsters! (So-named because when I was mostly-solo leveling her, Kestrel went through summonable Shivans like candy-)

Hadrian... who also guards the Chantry

The Locks in Cap au Diable

I miss the Seed. :(

Rough times in Imperial City

Longbow obviously takes their name seriously. o_0

Screens for the screen gods!

He looks like he belongs there...

"Omnomnomnom," says Hamidon's monster.

Mercy, at a distance

He could build mole-machines, armies of automatons and one very cool Pandora Machine... and yet Nemesis never figured out corner railings. o_0

One of the new Council maps that would have been released with i24

A night widow is always up to no good...

Inside the Overbrook dam

Paragon Waterworks (Crey's Folly)

The path to the Afterlife? (Echo Dark Astoria)

Hello there, Posi.

One guess where I left Beans, my little radioactive stink-bug....

Just another endless sunny afternoon in ancient Rome

Sally believes! (... In taking short-cuts when she thinks no one is looking. <_<)

Scrappy and his Grunge-groupies

I loved smashing Seedlings. They made such a great SPLUTCH sound when you splattered them...

Did I mention that I miss this guy? :(

Sonic fences (First Ward)

One of the staues in Dark Astoria

The temple

It was hard to get a look at these guys close-up... The Unseelie

Twilight of Industry? (Crey's Folly)

Sometimes there really is light at the end of the tunnel...

The Westerman building (First Ward)

Never let it be said that ours wasn't the single most COLORFUL game in the history of MMOs.

I love that the Witches Marks in Croatoa were made of brooms...

Arachnos street-artist?

Stick-Cat and Fuzzball (aka Juno-the-catgirl-staff-scrap and Recollection-the-warshade)

The Dev Dungeon under Grandville

Founder's Falls

Someone seems to have been going for their WST badges.... "Task Force grinder", indeed. XD

Even villains need some quiet time away from the rat-race.

I'd look grim too if I were a giant statue on an island surrounded by seagulls. o_0

Karasu, heading home.

A counterpoint to the picture of Karasu... Mist in Moonlight, heading out.

Neutropolis, from mid-town Imperial

"I didn't do it! Yeah, I'm a siren, and yeah, I'm standing here on this rock... But not every single ship-wreck in this game is MY fault!"

Nova Praetoria

I don't care what anyone says about Praetoria being a waste of dev time and resources, or a poorly-balanced ghost-town or what-ever. Imperial was a beautiful city zone and I'm glad they made it.

Just another road to nowhere...

Shade's favorite dive... I have the feeling she probably tried to drag poor Raymond there more than once, just to snicker over the name.

Like I said, it was a pretty city...

While I know they're supposed to be palms, they still always reminded me of pineapples...

Anyone for an STF?

Okay, how about some sushi?
A *lot* of sushi....

A bridge too far... (... for my draw-distance to render. >_>)

Mercy Island

Every clock face was set to a different time.

Evil should be getting worried... (Principle and Palrah, doing that "Angelic thing")

My Nemissary (a Dark defender-) could afford to be fearless. I think he might have been harder to kill than a couple of my tanks by the time he was finished. o_0

Standing guard (Indy)

Same bridge. Different light.

I'll admit it. I never understood why so many people loved King's Row so much.

Blue Steel's prototype of the "I'm a Contact" Mario-coins was a little over-done.

The "Matrix Room" under Peregrine Island

Something old, something new... (Mercy Island)

Moon over Terra Volta

"Okay, okay! You guys can keep the candy cane... Sheeze."

Malaise. Trying to run away like some kind'a big baby

Pamina, one of the birds who stayed behind with Silos and the Menders

That expression does not say "Proud" to me... It says "Great. I'm about to be flattened by some player's bright pink cat-girl."

The Widow's Tower

Just your average spikey-thing... Palrah in Rularuu form.

Who says you can't be a top dog in high heels and an evening gown?

Two Towers?

A screen from our last Liberty Underground run...

Archery is all the rage, it seems... o_0

There's just something weird about setting a submarine on fire...

Kephren the siren admits that she may have been responsible for that one...

It's hard to be proud when you're being bounced around like a hackey sack.

From the most annoying "kill all" ever... The Clockwork-infested factory

Every time I ran the clone mission, I tried to race the timer to get down to the portal room. Summer Moon, a claws scrap, was the only one of my crew who ever made it.

I'd cower too after seeing what a KinMelee stalker could do to crystals and rock monsters. o_0

Dogfight in Nerva

Dollface was a terrible housekeeper... and had a bad habit of ripping the eyes off of all of her paintings.

Assigned to Primeva

Flooded Office (First Ward)

Green was a much better color for warehouses.

Though I didn't play with him very often, there really was a player character version of Grey Kestrel's Adept companion, Red Cardinal...

"Think he'll make it?"
  "Not a chance..."
Shade and Slarrah, watching some hapless traveler navigate the Chantry's gravity geysers.

There were an awful lot of shipwrecks in our game, as it turns out...

Midnighter's Club

More Midnighter's

The temple in modern times

Nerva

Shade and her fellow New Praetorians... I loved that Alec was a Bots Mastermind with clockworks. XD

The sea north of Thorn Island

Sundry was clearly taking our mission to embarrass Statesman seriously. XD

Say aahhhhh...

Well dust.

"I hope you do not expect me to clean up this mess."

Thorn Island

Tiger, tiger burning bright... I'm told everyone eventually builds an energy blaster. It just took waiting for the right bits to build a battle-mech for me to get in on it. Tao Tiger was another one I didn't get to finish.

Under Overbrook

The only proper use for a rainbow path aura... Star Dasher, my Robot Unicorn Attack brute. XD

"And WHAT, exactly, do you expect me to do with these things?"

The Avatar's tunnel (Last Bastion)

In jail. Again.

Ty'ree had such a crush on DJ...

Ouro on fire

A proud member of the "Yes, your tank is a fluffy little schoolgirl" club.

Death Surge

It wasn't a graceful landing...

The Eternal Prison (Night Ward)

From the Earth...

... To the Moon

Landlords hate renting buildings to Hellions

Almost there!

The last map on Earth, or at least the map where one of my crew had to have a pointed discussion with a guy who claimed to be the last person on Earth...

Even a Time-guy has to wait around in Terra Volta

You just know there's a layer cake room at the end of that tunnel...

Even the subway tunnels were spooky in Night Ward

Talon cave by candle-light

What Kestrel called "The best toy EVER!"... I still don't believe they actually let our red-siders keep that thing. But I'm glad they did. Kes wasn't looking forward to losing her boat. XD

Boxes. Of SCIENCE!

Still the best Oranbegan map...

But I really loved the Underground map, too.

All he really wants is a hug

Katie's cave, or "If I get caught on ONE MORE ROOT somebody's gonna die!"

Lambda, looking for 15.

Magic by firelight

A rare red-side map... President Marchand's office.

I wonder if that mace has a built-in remote for the jumbotron... <_<

Rikti map

The ruins of Galaxy City

We really did spend a lot of time in caves...

Then again, I'm told the quickest path to saving the world ALWAYS leads right through the sewers.

At least our caves had some variety.

Poor Eddie. He couldn't even catch a break from the orbs.

Little shotgun houses in Lambda Sector (Neutropolis)

That sinking feeling...

Skyraider's Base

Anybody seen Baby New Year? I seem to have lost the little spud somewhere... <_<

Just a girl and her snowbeast.

The haunted house's equally zombie-infested backyard.

"We'll hit those Hellions first BECAUSE I SAID SO." (Winter Sky sometimes handled her role as a tank a lot like she handled her role as a mom. XD)

The "big room" in the Elysion base really was.

A "blue side" pillbox (Recluse's Victory)

CANDY!

Can you hear the yodeling?

Drydock (Port Oakes)

I was always surprised that some enterprising villain didn't cut those power lines... 'Seems like a delightfully easy way to shut down Peregrine Island.

The engine room of the Mitscher. It worried Kes a little that she never saw any members of the crew down there.

I always wondered what kind of thing the "Flying V" company produced... I really want to believe it was Nemesis' front company for the manufacture of steam ponies.

Whisper, keeping a watchful eye from the shadows.

There just HAD to be a story behind this thing... You know there did...

** hums 'Bad Moon Rising' **

The statues in Recluse's Victory really took a beating.

There really ought to have been creepy red eyes in those windows from the outside, too.

And with this batch, the two threads are caught up!
I'll post a whole new, fresh batch here and for the Ouphs tomorrow.

"Change my costume? In this thing? .... No way. Not happening."

**Imagine a clip of the portal noise here**

Like I said, Nemesis' toys have style. In any incarnation.

Longbow cataphract (Recluse's Victory)

Lonely Hero
(I have no idea who he was... I just came across him perched on that rail in a dark corner of Pocket D while I was taking location screens of the club. He and Ke'khali were the only player characters there at the time.)

Lookout (Peregrine Island)

Ah, memories... First to the Vault, then on to smash every single breakable object in Peregrine.

Best. Machine. Ever.

I never saw anyone actually using the arenas, but they were pretty buildings.

Perez Park

Perez Park lions

Port Oakes

"Yeah! I'm still the greatest! Even though I got toppled over by some Brute..."

The portal to Recluse's Victory

Ravi calculates the aerodynamic properties of a level 1 Hellion

"I know you're going to throw my helmet at me. Just get it over with so we can move on to the 'I meant to do that' bit."

Zombies are not great housekeepers, either.

So *that's* where Kes left her boat...

Torchlight

Recluse must have found a great sale on banners...

Where was this building?  Was it where Drea used to be?  If so, I guess I never stepped back to take a look at it.

Shade and Slarrah, watching some hapless traveler navigate the Chantry's gravity geysers.

I'll have you know that Snow Panther (my level 50 Cold/Ice Defender with Super Speed and Super Jump) made it all the way from Firebase Zulu to The Storm Palace once. :P Granted her own travel powers made using the gravity geysers a bit easier... but still.  I was always proud of being able to run her all the way in, especially since ICly she was my supergroup's scout.  Just made sense she would go to the farthest reaches.

Edit: And on the topic of the building. I saw that building rather often and not once did it occur to me that it was built out of a ship...  But looking at your screenshot it's so blatantly obvious.  I didn't spend very much time redside. >.>

Most of my crew were questionable at best with the geysers... but then, the ones I took into the Shard were all fliers, so I never really had to learn to depend on them to get around. I just used them once in awhile for fun.  ;D

The Chantry

It wasn't until I was working on this screenshot that I realized the little animal riding with the witch isn't a cat... It's a bunny.

This picture has a soundtrack. (That was my favorite location music in the entire game, and no small part of the reason why I chose the Jackpot neighborhood in Saint Martial as Kestrel and Cardinal's "home base".)
