Hi Everyone: New and cant access f1 function or any maps - please help

Hi Everyone:  New to forum but I was 3 years vet of City of heroes (love this game) and big thank you for character creator but now I having trouble access the maps, emotes etc.   What do you do to load a map - do you load in character creator or do you press something else?   Please let me know and big ty !

You complete character creation the same way you would do to start the game when the servers were running.

Hi, are you using the npc or reg icon?

I think I found the problem, I using the icon-npc.bat but when I click to enter a map it telling to buy the costume parts from market - how do you fix this?

Sorry one more thing, while using the icon-npc my powers and origins are always then same, how do you fix that?

Look for an F-Lock key on your keyboard, it needs to be on to use your F keys.

I don't know why it is like that for you, I just opened my NPC Icon and it went straight to the first Origin page of character creation.

On that first Origin page, I can create a character like usual.

Hi Arachnion:   I did as you said but when I used icon npc the game skips rest of menus and goes right to body.  Can go back, just stay on the body menu.  Plus when I make a character the arrow botton on bottom is gray out and say I have to buy the parts.   I am adding the -n wrong -  ex .exe" -n   or   .exe -n"?     Also I cant find a key name F lock?

Yeah I didn't know if your keyboard had an F-Lock or not, mine does and the F keys work that way.

The -n should look like this in your shortcut's Target area.



Create a shortcut for icon.exe (or use one you already have) right click it, select Properties, then add one space after the " at the very end.

Then type -n after the space you put after ".

The body issue skip error you are having sounds like an old version of Icon.

It hasn't been working for you though, has it?

Try my shortcut idea, if the .bat file isn't working right/at all.

Check that you're using the last Beta client and latest Icon.

Sounds like you're using an old Icon version. That used to be the default behavior for it once.
