Dr. Machina's MM Bubblebot Build
« on: February 19, 2008, 01:27:38 PM »
Here's my current bubblebot build.  As of today, I'm one bar away from 41 and I've completed my patron arc for Scirocco.  Feel free to comment on my build  ;D

I've had awesome success with this build, especially because of the invention sets.  Enemy NPCs have a hard time touching me especially because of the Force Bubble, which sets up a large exclusion zone around my toon.  I've been able to solo most of my recent missions on the relentless diff setting, and I can solo the mayhem missions on lower settings.  I did have to drop the diff level for the patron arc, though, because of Silver Mantis and Baracudda.  They proved difficult even at the lowest setting.

Last night, I was recruited in to a team by one of my SG mates.  They were having serious issues with a DE outdoor map.  I came in, set up my bots and helped them clear the map.  Probably put me very close to a couple more badges as well.

At one time, I did try a respec where I did not take up the fitness power pool and ran in to serious endurance issues.  It took me much longer to get my bots on to the field because of having to wait for endurance recharge.  On my following respec a day or two later, I brought back my original build and I don't think I'll respec Machina again.

I'll post my build up.

I named my bots after Windows Versions, let's just say they die a lot - :P

I should have named them Ubuntu - :P

They do seem to do that.  Good thing they're expendable.  I named mine after certain Decepticons.  I gave up on trying to give them bubbles because of the hassle of an additional level of bubble management.  Instead, I try to keep them safe inside my exclusion zone during combat, which works out a little better and is easier on my endurance management.

I usually bubble them in the beginning and then just let the protector bots keep them bubbled.  But if I have my protector bots bubble and then I bubbled, the bots really don't get touched - :P

Aid self isn't entirely neccesary provided you get the Green insp drops...or unless you maintain the only-my-bots-will-get-hit motto.  As for aid-other, your Protector Bots will heal your group of Bots, just not you, so that Power shouldn't bee needed either.

Hey that looks like a really nice build. Haven't gotten to bots yet myself; haven't come up with a good concept.  Seems like a very popular combo, however.

I run Staminaless Merc/Poison and Ninja/Storm Masterminds. The Ninja/Storm is still only 26, but has benefitted greatly from a handful of IOs, while the Merc/Poison hit 50 long before IOs came out (and I later respec'd into an even more efficient IO build).  They both have an assortment of toggles and I found the greatest benefit to the builds was having 2 end reduxes in the upgrades, in addition to 30-60% in just about everything else.  Oh and the Pet IO sets... boy what a difference they make! I didn't realize until after I rebuilt the Merc/Poison that the end reduxes in Pet sets affect both summon cost and the henchmen's attack costs, so I'm not dropping blues on the Commando anymore ('cept after Serum wears off).

I knew a Staminaless Bots/FF way back in the day and he seemed to do fine; I believe he had all 3 leadership toggles and aid other, self, and resuscitate.  He had no attacks, however, and set up always brought him down pretty low.  I can't imagine the devastation he'd wreak now if he were still playing with a solid IO build.

I don't think aid self is necessary, but could be nice to have if you've the room and slots. I'm going to try it out on the Ninja/Storm for chips and giggles. (It's always nice when the Medic comes to heal me, instead of punching some random enemy.)

Oh yeah... I wasn't terribly creative with the Ninja MM's henches names; Cyclone, Derecho, Gorogoro, Hokusai, Squall and Kamiseen, but the Merc/Poison's henches are A, E, I, O, U and Sometimes Y, which teams get a kick out of. :P
